These are sooooo tasty, my favourite is the cookies n creme one. I love how it’s so crunchy and satisfying to eat. I don’t eat too many at once because they are a bit sweet so it’s great for the sugar cravings. My husband loves the Reese flavour.<br />

Time really flies..<br />
<br />
I did a mini restocking haul from Sasa with two new things that I haven't tried before.<br />
<br />
BCL Browlash came out with a new film mascara called WP Washable Long & Curl (a volume formula is also available). If this brand sounds familiar to you, I did a <a href="http://www.mmmiu.blogspot.ca/2014/01/bcl-brow-lash-mascaras.html" target="_blank">review here</a> a while ago on two of their other mascaras. I'm eager to try this out as I'm a fan of fiber mascaras.<br />
<br />
I also restocked on the Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara Film type. The formula is slightly drier, but I find that it's great at holding my lash curl and doesn't smudge on me. It has a curved bristle wand with a fast drying formula. It can be removed with warm water, although I find this one takes a bit longer to remove than the Fiberwig mascara (which BTW, they changed their packaging!).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiihcqfKv5y7LSXIquu2PauoJxH53o8bvUtqEAj3u-ET-rqhbz8WLNotSFH97_ZxYkFFHC9jDoifpWMd2zU5sSsofVZvUJ5PF-UfFAmZE9LcldyYWG8_-KikBi3Ded9vGfMRuHomGIB6JzJ/s1600/Heroine+Make+-+make+lasting+base3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiihcqfKv5y7LSXIquu2PauoJxH53o8bvUtqEAj3u-ET-rqhbz8WLNotSFH97_ZxYkFFHC9jDoifpWMd2zU5sSsofVZvUJ5PF-UfFAmZE9LcldyYWG8_-KikBi3Ded9vGfMRuHomGIB6JzJ/s400/Heroine+Make+-+make+lasting+base3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I restocked on my go-to liquid eyeliner by Kiss Me Heroine Make. I think I've been using this now for the past few years, I can't even remember when I bought the first one.<br />
The package has changed slightly, in that the pen is now black with shimmers. Hopefully the formula hasn't changed. This works better on me that Dolly Wink, which tends to smudge later in the day.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguHk8qd099N3vZurvzc0GJuobSFtcMS0p66cQ3oF3iS5PRY-gAGVyeS3F_GX-ftwEZlzJyDAbnKIy2nNw9OsEel29bu9wypZEtZJD7AtzyxlQ989dwqHU0C7x-zK6HVgvghge8sCkmXS0H/s1600/Heroine+Make+Eyeliner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguHk8qd099N3vZurvzc0GJuobSFtcMS0p66cQ3oF3iS5PRY-gAGVyeS3F_GX-ftwEZlzJyDAbnKIy2nNw9OsEel29bu9wypZEtZJD7AtzyxlQ989dwqHU0C7x-zK6HVgvghge8sCkmXS0H/s400/Heroine+Make+Eyeliner.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
I normally use the Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer, but Toronto has been much more humid and hot this summer that I notice my foundation slipping off faster.<br />
I saw the Heroine Make Make Lasting Base on <a href="http://www.ratzillacosme.com/makeup/heroine-make-make-lasting-base-mat-keep/" target="_blank">Ratzillacosme</a> and was very happy that Sasa (and also Adambeauty) started carrying it on the website. The packaging is not only so cute, it has SPF50, uses zinc oxide and supposedly doesn't have any harsh chemicals (like alcohol).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJOq-9R9qzfJlBeyo72pAePfoAdec-BE8-7rLNlQDvlST3_pq32Ke61YKUaD4CDkvqle9-P0V_ETLBp70FOu_jLekHJtv5mafzjYtqd3Xdl4-SNOdB86_37C9OHL8-ViRcSRPqFf-4xW6j/s1600/Heroine+Make+-+make+lasting+base2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJOq-9R9qzfJlBeyo72pAePfoAdec-BE8-7rLNlQDvlST3_pq32Ke61YKUaD4CDkvqle9-P0V_ETLBp70FOu_jLekHJtv5mafzjYtqd3Xdl4-SNOdB86_37C9OHL8-ViRcSRPqFf-4xW6j/s400/Heroine+Make+-+make+lasting+base2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The formula feels very light and doesn't have the slick silicone feel to it. It's sticky, but not sticky, if you know what I mean, almost like the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer texture.<br />
It gives my skin a slight brightening effect and is great at keeping my makeup in place throughout the day. I didn't even need to retouch! Even when my skin starts to get oily, my makeup looks more like a soft glow rather than oily. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAqxqOpNd2roeWcNHi2Yu2WuEMoLhVv4VqNfTw95EtwEr9lCBkJ2_Y9ewXdBT_AQsxUCWFIETxpexY7Zu33xHFkovZQmJ-GwKjP1brBLOouF5N7tUtmdW9ry47f88enKifNByKfjITOGG_/s1600/Heroine+Make+-+make+lasting+base.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAqxqOpNd2roeWcNHi2Yu2WuEMoLhVv4VqNfTw95EtwEr9lCBkJ2_Y9ewXdBT_AQsxUCWFIETxpexY7Zu33xHFkovZQmJ-GwKjP1brBLOouF5N7tUtmdW9ry47f88enKifNByKfjITOGG_/s400/Heroine+Make+-+make+lasting+base.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The only downside is there's not expiry date on it, but since it's relatively new on the market, sunscreens are normally good for 2 years or so.<br />
Overally, this is great for those who want to cut down a step in their makeup routine as it is a primer and SPF in 1 product. I love how it's fragrance-free and doesn't use any of the chemical filters (I prefer it that way) and I've noticed that it really helps keep my makeup in place during the warmer summer months in Toronto.MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-23821799228210150972014-07-01T17:44:00.001-04:002014-07-01T17:48:24.973-04:00Skin Aqua Sarafit UV & Solanoveil BB Milk sunscreen<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I got 2 new sunscreens for summertime! I did lots of research on which one to get and bought the Solaneveil BB Milk sunscreen and Skin Aqua Sara Fit UV Dry Keep Powder from Adambeauty.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm a huge lover of high SPF sunscreens, even though I know it's not that big of a difference from SPF 30, it gives me a piece of mind whenever I'm using it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggVoKA2qFlb50c1UWAIVMQXYG-ghnY5Go6gfpQqXsBPxyVqP7nVvqy-K5ExQhtZCetsFzCSolIZ_4ErtPpPeOdTysl1oiUkedx_js4FpZoZFqNbesgRMKe5KbUs3qX9IbwNDFBM7b_T1ak/s1600/sarafit+solanoveil001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggVoKA2qFlb50c1UWAIVMQXYG-ghnY5Go6gfpQqXsBPxyVqP7nVvqy-K5ExQhtZCetsFzCSolIZ_4ErtPpPeOdTysl1oiUkedx_js4FpZoZFqNbesgRMKe5KbUs3qX9IbwNDFBM7b_T1ak/s1600/sarafit+solanoveil001.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
The biggest annoyance about most Japanese sunscreens is they don't have the expiry date. Even though Adambeauty is pretty good at keeping their selections recent, I checked Ratzilla Cosme and found out that Adambeauty only carried the 2011 packaging for the Solanoveil BB Milk sunscreen. I'll probably have to throw this out if I don't finish it this year to be on the safe side. The Sara Fit UV however, came out with this packaging in February.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjolGCmuIv4Nd0arRwYxq9G_752JiyudEwJ0lyqalwhFO-kUkbc6ZeW2Ycj9fVCInrJU86e4evY36M55x-kWfuUcYptKJCqRJywSSObe3luW7E9FPKUuAM_hgGqnIXEVlU6CZQ5V4f3Kt7P/s1600/sarafit+solanoveil002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjolGCmuIv4Nd0arRwYxq9G_752JiyudEwJ0lyqalwhFO-kUkbc6ZeW2Ycj9fVCInrJU86e4evY36M55x-kWfuUcYptKJCqRJywSSObe3luW7E9FPKUuAM_hgGqnIXEVlU6CZQ5V4f3Kt7P/s1600/sarafit+solanoveil002.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
The Sara Fit UV SPF 50 is supposed to keep your skin dry and powdery feeling, even when you're sweating. I saw the commercial on Youtube and the sweat will supposedly bead off your skin, which it didn't on me. It did dry down to a powdery finish (I use this one on my neck) and seemed to last pretty long throughout the day without feeling sticky at all. The sunscreen comes out as a white with a gel-like texture and dries down quickly on my skin.<br />
My only concern was the smell. It smelled like there was a lot of alcohol in the product, but at least there wasn't any fragrance to mask it.<br />
<br />
I got the Solanoveil BB Milk SPF 50 sunscreen because I wanted to use less makeup in the summer. It provided some light coverage and had a semi matte finish. I had to massage/blend it well onto my skin, otherwise it there was some streaking. It didn't cover too much, it just evened out my skin slightly, so I just brush a bit of powder foundation on top for a bit more coverage.<br />
The texture is very liquidy, so applying it on sections of my face makes it much easier to control.<br />
I think there's quite a lot of alcohol in this product too because I noticed by nose looked a bit dry after using it, plus it dried down pretty quickly.<br />
This product is supposed to be water and sweat proof, but I haven't actually tested it while swimming.<br />

I think most people have gone to YT for reviews on makeup now. I'm not a camera person so I don't think I will make videos, I tried and I just didn't like it.<br />
I think it's nice to still have a blog though, because if you're looking for something specific, you can easily Google the product to read the review rather than having to browse through videos, listen to the intros, skip the parts that you don't want to hear.. etc.. But that's just me<br />
<br />
Onto the review! I think I have a mascara obsession... seems like I get more mascaras than anything else.<br />
I've seen this DejaVu Lashup mascaras on a few Asian blogs already so I was super curious to try it. I've been a loyal fan of the Dejavu mascaras for quite some time now (except the volumizing one, it smudges).<br />
This one is new to the line and promises to give a better curl to the lashes with its quick drying formula.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTfmWb30yW__tthInN5FyvLBq6TE6MckAqgW22YkewFnARPHOu-lhPn4WgqBYehiHoseHaGc1CDRU0y0eOY058Elfot3Sx8Fb-EXWRgo9uFb8aiDTHIjJh-jUxUFTAAd4C8RXvuXI5X59M/s1600/dejavu+fiberwig+lashup+002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTfmWb30yW__tthInN5FyvLBq6TE6MckAqgW22YkewFnARPHOu-lhPn4WgqBYehiHoseHaGc1CDRU0y0eOY058Elfot3Sx8Fb-EXWRgo9uFb8aiDTHIjJh-jUxUFTAAd4C8RXvuXI5X59M/s1600/dejavu+fiberwig+lashup+002.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
The brush has long and short bristles alternating along the curve. I don't find the short bristles do much, it's mostly full of mascara and it doesn't comb onto the lashes very well. The long bristles are great though, and because of the way the brush is curved and the position of the bristles, my inner and outer lashes can get a coating of mascara very easily.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjyTw9wHR4vqeZNk0Mx50z2uqh9CVK5vJex0cIfTYmo-pdYx4uF6-qw2URddWTcWWBxrdCJ6JRzVZID6_BYK2L34WU-KancmXFLnLaKQEfj2BpFW2wC7LcuLn5ATJILoMS0gfLORdobksh/s1600/dejavu+fiberwig+lashup+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjyTw9wHR4vqeZNk0Mx50z2uqh9CVK5vJex0cIfTYmo-pdYx4uF6-qw2URddWTcWWBxrdCJ6JRzVZID6_BYK2L34WU-KancmXFLnLaKQEfj2BpFW2wC7LcuLn5ATJILoMS0gfLORdobksh/s1600/dejavu+fiberwig+lashup+001.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
Although it's supposed to be a fiber mascara, I don't actually notice the fibers. So for anyone that's not a fan of the super fuzzy fiber mascaras, you might like this.<br />
Just like the other Dejavu mascaras, this one also washes out with warm water and stays put through sweat, oil and tears.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After! It doesn't give a lot of volume, but layering it on 3-4 times helps. I think this is probably the best mascara that actually keeps my lashes curled throughout the day. The formula is slightly wet but dries very quickly which helps the curl stay put. Amazing! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I haven't seem Adambeauty carry it yet, so I got mine from Sasa.com for about $17CAD. </div>

I purchased 2 mascaras recently, the BCL Lash Curler Express and Volume Lash Fiber. I saw it on Adambeauty while browsing around for new products. They were about $15-17 each, I can't remember the exact cost.<br />
These mascaras are supposed to be smudge proof and sweat proof but comes off easily with warm water.<br />

The Volume Lash Fiber mascara is supposed to plump up your lashes by 200% and it has fibers in it to help with volume. <br />
The Lash Curler Express mascara is supposed to be good at curling and holding it without using a lash curler.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF4T6WYkU3GTCnKiTJpEvPHm6Sbo6oSDdwRRTxZuw8u1n3bgY91AR6wrEi7PgiICVtudoXEZHiJLXZBOsq1pNddRhFVaAWjkiXSuUf7DtsEfRLAPEba2XdZO6A2ZLpt3-JKOCp9OKkAZ8O/s1600/BCLmascara2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF4T6WYkU3GTCnKiTJpEvPHm6Sbo6oSDdwRRTxZuw8u1n3bgY91AR6wrEi7PgiICVtudoXEZHiJLXZBOsq1pNddRhFVaAWjkiXSuUf7DtsEfRLAPEba2XdZO6A2ZLpt3-JKOCp9OKkAZ8O/s1600/BCLmascara2.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
You can see the brush difference. The Lash Curler Express has a slightly wetter formula while Volume Lash Fiber is slightly dryer. The both have a unique curve to help catch the lashes and this aids in giving that curl.<br />
<br />
The wand on the Lash Curler Express looks like a half circle, flat on the bottom and rounded on the top. The formula is supposed to dry quickly with curl holding waxes in it. It does dry pretty fast and does a decent job at keeping my lashes curled, but it's not very volumizing. I haven't noticed any smudging around my eyes which is good, no panda eyes!<br />
<br />
The Volume Lash Fiber has lots of fibers in it. I like how the brush is tapered and curved so applying mascara on the corners of my eyes is much easier.<br />
I wouldn't say it thickens my lashes by 200%, but it does do better than the Fiberwig mascara. The only downside is, the tube dries pretty fast. I actually tried it last spring, but never got around to writing a review. The first tube I purchased, I liked it quite a lot, but it got way too goopy after using it for about 3 months. This time around, I noticed that it smudged a bit under my eyes after about 8 hours of wear.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzX-32v08wHoYqRi-Sr37VtWTVjrqGD4TkgrdbuCt2NDEDeUpD7Nz7MaXpo6k1cfLQR9_Rhojv4d_1s0-5gOYkPqVGdhBzLxEl8jVWNmseKPrq6y7qxqdaFDEFSfN5HMe2vQdW4wyZ-ZoL/s1600/BCLmascara3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzX-32v08wHoYqRi-Sr37VtWTVjrqGD4TkgrdbuCt2NDEDeUpD7Nz7MaXpo6k1cfLQR9_Rhojv4d_1s0-5gOYkPqVGdhBzLxEl8jVWNmseKPrq6y7qxqdaFDEFSfN5HMe2vQdW4wyZ-ZoL/s1600/BCLmascara3.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The main thing I like about both the mascaras are the shapes of the wands and it comes off with warm water. However, I'm not sure if I would repurchased the Volume Lash Fiber just because I noticed some smudging. I'll definitely repurchase the Lash Curler Express because it holds the curl a bit better than the Fiberwig mascara. </div>

I think I started using it about 7-8 years ago? I can't remember. But it was always my go-to because it would never smudge and it came off easily with warm water. The only thing was, it never really gave a lot of volume, which is why I'm always on the look out for a new mascara.<br />
While shopping around on Adambeauty, I noticed the Fairy Drops mascara in the film type, which means it stays on like the Fiberwig mascara and comes off with warm water. I never had any luck with the first Fairy Drops that was released years ago because it smudged on me. However, the Platinum Film type promises to stay put while giving length and curl.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I think there's fibers in it. If there is, it's barley noticeable. The wand is curved with 3 ball-like shapes to help catch onto all the lashes.<br />
The formula isn't too wet, which is great for me because wetter formulas tend to weigh my lashes down.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here's the before and after picture. My lashes are barely noticeable and this is before I curled them.<br />

..and after. I used about 2 coats of mascara, if I added more it started to weigh my lashes down.<br />

This is a decent mascara. It stays put all day and doesn't smudge or flake. On my left eye, it's pretty good at holding the curl, but my right eye lashes doesn't really stay. It lengths pretty well but at the same time, if I apply more for length, my lashes start to droop, so I wouldn't repurchase a new one once I run out, I'd rather try another film type mascara...the hunt continues for the perfect mascara!MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-13839741084836854302013-05-29T14:42:00.000-04:002013-05-29T14:42:11.377-04:00Dolly Wink Pencil Eye Color (glitter) For the longest time, Adambeauty didn't have the Dolly Wink Pencil Eye Color in stock, but I finally got it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi21T6a5mKJUNtJxi73YnAqoFdX4NJ__uog9KP3f9kDOme2NrPA6NVEtt2OPJ-6po073RGh0fCom22HTOW5YRY-CYrjURFmUx-vgQNrY6VbkPHkX3POy5i1BVzsZC-OQXonnFUZohxHm25E/s1600/dollywinkpencil003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi21T6a5mKJUNtJxi73YnAqoFdX4NJ__uog9KP3f9kDOme2NrPA6NVEtt2OPJ-6po073RGh0fCom22HTOW5YRY-CYrjURFmUx-vgQNrY6VbkPHkX3POy5i1BVzsZC-OQXonnFUZohxHm25E/s400/dollywinkpencil003.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
This is a smaller version of regular pencil liners used for highlighting along the lower lashline or waterline. The size is similar to the Dolly Wink mascaras. The smaller size didn't matter too much since I only need very little to highlight anyway.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDK0PerqKFaSevZ9mghuNnQkPC_k8xBWx0yZvLMzifVF7qGC8nisbJDHiqzZ-HVQYPpYnPs-XBmqA4toExXZRpk7_3FaDwLQDnVSk33FbI6wHIK5qUf3w4rLa5oUKIE8sNFPKnVm3WARxk/s1600/dollywinkpencil002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDK0PerqKFaSevZ9mghuNnQkPC_k8xBWx0yZvLMzifVF7qGC8nisbJDHiqzZ-HVQYPpYnPs-XBmqA4toExXZRpk7_3FaDwLQDnVSk33FbI6wHIK5qUf3w4rLa5oUKIE8sNFPKnVm3WARxk/s400/dollywinkpencil002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The texture is fairly smooth, but sometimes I have to warm it up on my hand before applying. It only comes in one color which is a golden champagne color.<br />
I can never get color to stay on my lower lashline/inner color and was very happy that this pencil stayed put all day! When I first tested it on the back of my hand, the color barely even came off when I wiped it with a tissue, even when I rubbed really hard. Amazing stuff.<br />
On my eyes, it appears a little bit more gold than champagne, probably due to my skin color.<br />
Overall, it's an amazing product to use for highlighting, especially if you have oily eyelids or your eyes tend to water easily.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I also went to Hawaii a couple weeks ago and stopped by the duty free shop in Honolulu. It's like makeup heaven!!!!!!!! Even if some of the brands didn't carry the whole collection, it's so cheap in my opinion...no Canadian mark ups!<br />
I was very excited to see the Paul & Joe counter. Even though they didn't carry the full line, I still managed to grab a bunch of products: body and hair mist, hand creams, pressed powder duos plus a case and some protective foundation primer uv. The scents brings back so many memories of Hong Kong and Korea back in 2008-2009. I've never seen P&J so cheap so I made sure to stock up!<br />

I find that a lot of them smudge under my eyes. I've only been using the Dejavu Fiberwig mascara (for the last 8 years or so) and for the past half year, the Dolly Wink Long Mascara (the volume one smudges).<br />
I was happy to see that there was a new fiber mascara that is apparently very similar to both Fiberwig and Dolly Wink because it comes off with warm water.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4PCafASRmyrtEsEASOHjaSygaen1PfX1GE9Ao2JVb-scgas-3agSHwMkcnc7UjqSOZFvIEzYAWB_9dNnU_vzK893AvjdxJ_fZv41eaw7ghF1xeo4J0KaDIFTRPOg3DaKXr5lzLmxt9Dvy/s1600/anmiel01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4PCafASRmyrtEsEASOHjaSygaen1PfX1GE9Ao2JVb-scgas-3agSHwMkcnc7UjqSOZFvIEzYAWB_9dNnU_vzK893AvjdxJ_fZv41eaw7ghF1xeo4J0KaDIFTRPOg3DaKXr5lzLmxt9Dvy/s400/anmiel01.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>
It's supposed to have different types of fibers to build length. I find it to be a decent mascara. It definitely lengthens very well, to the point where if I'm not careful, it will touch my glasses lens. There's no smudging, but by the end of a very long day, I sometimes notice a fiber or two under my eyes.<br />
The curling power of this mascara is mediocre, unless I do a very good job at curling with the lash curler. The application is like most other mascaras, if you're layering too much on, there's a tendency to clump, unless you comb it out. I also find this mascara takes too long to dry and when I close my eyes (while using hair spray) I can feel it sticking to the bottom lashes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSlO5GlNj_GQQfqqb7pG992huCRJ9Y6rxPklXpuqjAqRcjTG0YfdiiC2qdjl0kSjfxqw6VDARza6LZ8cQOAj7U9Ea2y36UCSjIKa1MopKiocsFeR7Vzhxlk_KljnK1Zdj0qXD98R1rA5m5/s1600/anmiel02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSlO5GlNj_GQQfqqb7pG992huCRJ9Y6rxPklXpuqjAqRcjTG0YfdiiC2qdjl0kSjfxqw6VDARza6LZ8cQOAj7U9Ea2y36UCSjIKa1MopKiocsFeR7Vzhxlk_KljnK1Zdj0qXD98R1rA5m5/s400/anmiel02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
You can clearly see how much fiber is packed into this mascara, it's even fuzzier than Dolly Wink and Fiberwig mascara. The first few times I used it, I felt one of the fibers in my eye, but lucky for me I wasn't wearing contact lenses.<br />
The mascara comes off with warm water, although I find that I have to massage it longer than the other fiber mascaras to take it off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijYrxKbLugCIg9AbKg96_mORS97PaSp0IjOtlTKUr9mRG6jskGYlIM7c5vaGEhoz1Ync8U39nbzSUGifTubVd7UhcFhJqF_x0-3SsRg21qkidGfMFluzXx9yTVXowcjQReDMYTL9ouTjNC/s1600/anmiel03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijYrxKbLugCIg9AbKg96_mORS97PaSp0IjOtlTKUr9mRG6jskGYlIM7c5vaGEhoz1Ync8U39nbzSUGifTubVd7UhcFhJqF_x0-3SsRg21qkidGfMFluzXx9yTVXowcjQReDMYTL9ouTjNC/s400/anmiel03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
In the end, I would probably not repurchase. When I look back at the cons, it's not really worth it unless there's a special package like bonus eyeliner or something.MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-61816619637821370142013-02-06T23:18:00.000-05:002013-02-06T23:18:03.201-05:00Melliesh BlushOh wow, time flew by so fast! I totally forgot to do a review on the Jill Stuart set, but to be honest, I haven't really been using it. All I can say is, the smell reminds me of Lancome's Miracle perfume and doesn't last long at all!<br />
<br />
I decided it was time for a new highlighter. I was tempted to get the Dolly Wink beige highlighter compact but I don't know how I ended up with the Melliesh Cheek Color 06.<br />
I purchased this on the Sasa website for about $15CAD.<br />

I was pretty surprised at the size, I thought 4g would be very small, but it's pretty big. This is great for those like me that like to try many different things so having it smaller works great.<br />

The color is a very pale lavender with practically no visible shimmer. If you look very very hard then you will notice the slightest bit of shimmer.<br />
Here it is compared to the Maquillage cheek sculptor blush. I can't remember the name of the blush since it's not on the case, but it came out a few years ago.<br />
The lavender highlighter shade in the Maquillage blush is very similar to Melliesh, except Maquillage has much more visible pearly shimmer to it.<br />

The highlighter blended very well to my cheeks without a chalky finish. I layered it two times to get a pretty glow. I kind of wish there was a bit more shimmer to it, but overall it gives a very beautiful natural glow.<br />

See, no visible shimmer and the lavender color is very pale. Although it's very pale, my coworker noticed that my skin looked more radiant!<br />

I'm not actually too sure how long it lasted on my cheeks, considering there is no shimmer for me to see how much it faded.MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-60918482321809606442012-11-12T23:02:00.001-05:002012-11-12T23:02:44.717-05:00Hong Kong Haul~Again, it's been such a long time since I've updated XD<br />
My mom recently went to Hong Kong and I gave her a small list. Most of the products I can buy from Adambeauty so I didn't bother asking for too much.<br />
I can get the <span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; line-height: 16px;">女人我最大</span> magazine easily at T&T, but it was cheaper from HK.<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; line-height: 16px;"> </span><br />

I saw these pins online somewhere and thought they'd be pretty useful since they're longer than the typical pins..and they have a slight curve.<br />

Comes with instructions for a simple "do" at the back. I was pretty disappointed with these though, they're not very strong/tight, so it slides out easily -___-'<br />

Saw the Dejavu Lash Serum on Ichibankao and I just had to have it.<br />
I'd be lying if I said I didn't use makeup everyday and cleaning mascara off doesn't always end pretty. Sometimes I'd lose a lash or two, so hopefully this serum will help strengthen them a bit.<br />
The tip is sort of spongy with tons of product on it. I just wave the tip through my lashes and comb it out at night.<br />

My beloved Koji Curving lash curler... The silicone pad on my first one has ripped through a while ago and I couldn't find my refill so I threw out the whole curler. I think I should have just purchased a random silicone replacement to use, but I think it's shaped differently. ButI got the Shiseido one to use in the meantime, which is OK, but sometimes the inner lashes don't curl.<br />
I think I forgot how well this one fits my eye because when I go and press the curler, it curls very very close to my lashes that it feels like it's tugging at them too much. Now I just need to get used to using this again.<br />
The one I got comes with a cute little handkerchief, instructions booklet, case and 2 extra refill pads.<br />

Ever since I started growing out my hair, which is quite long by now, I find it very difficult to maintain the volume, especially if I don't use the crimping iron at the roots (learned the trick from Fuzkittie). Mousse and curlers only do so much so I thought I'd give these interesting clips a try.<br />
They're basically metal hair clips that snap into place (you know the ones you would use back in elementary school to help keep your ponytail nice and snooth?). These have velcro on the top and bottom, with the top being bumped up slightly.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHN2kbxqyzqXXeg5dmtPtclo9WEaCj-x66HuSZq_TS_HPKsh6v0CD7kAB1eaBA6wvGd2-szfDZznngfqNxDHou0NWbc6nfmH9oDpzSuSmHJdfV5sRn6EE68xXoKRKUXbn8x1HaU-HwJtw/s1600/petitfuwa001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHN2kbxqyzqXXeg5dmtPtclo9WEaCj-x66HuSZq_TS_HPKsh6v0CD7kAB1eaBA6wvGd2-szfDZznngfqNxDHou0NWbc6nfmH9oDpzSuSmHJdfV5sRn6EE68xXoKRKUXbn8x1HaU-HwJtw/s400/petitfuwa001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Just clip it on the bottom layer anywhere you want some volume. My bangs are too short to clip the pins so I tried them on the sides of my hair.<br />
They work pretty well, a tiny bit of volume but I'm always paranoid that they're visible, especially when it gets windy outside. The clips do slide down my hair a bit, so using some hair spray underneath my hair helps give it some grip. Overall I think using the crimping iron gives the best volume.<br />

And.... my younger brother got me the Jill Stuart Relax First debut kit as my Christmas present! I thought it was the one with the bath tablet, but this one came with the super cushy soft pouch instead. Will do a post on this soon!<br />

I don't know how it started.. for some reason, BB's base makeup appealed to me.<br />
I'm not a huge fan of the color makeup, like the lipstick, powder shadows and gel liners. The lipstick feels sticky, the eyeshadow (from the shimmering nudes palette) oxidize and change color, even with a primer, and the gel liner doesn't stay put. Maybe I just haven't found the right color products yet.<br />
I've also tried the hydrating eye cream with avocado, did wow me too much. Now that I think of it, I've tried so many BB products without even realizing it.<br />
<br />
I recently purchased the Skin Foundation Mineral Makeup in Light to Medium and the Sheer Finish Loose Powder in Soft Sand.<br />
I got kind of annoyed at how the Sheer Finish Pressed Powder kept crumbling whenever the hole in the middle grew too big. It happened to both of the BB pressed powders I've used, so I just gave up and purchased the loose one to use at home and I keep a Lancome Translucence pressed powder in my purse instead...hopefully that won't crumble so easily.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglia4BlhHvCUbaNLdZ_N-7uMZNY_5ycujPT2tK6zmEvR2q07QcFaRcKPVS_1izw4NkgoOvXPFG-Bv0WsbfDNzE3aSw_PA3mQo_1tRBCzsQW3gOV0_Z9B7NmtiPXAijE_G7I6Qxp4eqZ7I/s1600/bobbibrownbase.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglia4BlhHvCUbaNLdZ_N-7uMZNY_5ycujPT2tK6zmEvR2q07QcFaRcKPVS_1izw4NkgoOvXPFG-Bv0WsbfDNzE3aSw_PA3mQo_1tRBCzsQW3gOV0_Z9B7NmtiPXAijE_G7I6Qxp4eqZ7I/s400/bobbibrownbase.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I haven't actually used the loose powder yet, but it's the same color I've been using in the pressed form, so I can't imagine it being that much different. I've done a post of the <a href="http://www.mmmiu.blogspot.ca/2011/07/base-makeup-updated.html" target="_blank">Skin Foundation</a> and the <a href="http://www.mmmiu.blogspot.ca/2012/05/summer-base-makeup.html" target="_blank">Tinted Moisturizer</a> in my previous posts if you'd like to read about it.<br />
<br />
I've read online that the mineral makeup is very sheer but I wanted to try it anyway, and yes it is sheer. When I first applied it, I barely even noticed anything on my skin, but after a few minutes, it seemed to look better and showed some form of coverage. I think it would work well as a finishing powder for those who prefer fuller coverage on top of their foundation. Otherwise it's a great light makeup to use because it stays very natural. It doesn't oxidize on my skin like the Laura Mercier mineral powder, but oil control isn't superior. It's not that my skin looks super oily, but after a couple hours, there's shine on my nose faster than if I used the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 foundation.<br />
But overall, I love the feeling of the mineral powder. It's soooo silky and soft and doesn't crease, whereas the Laura Mercier mineral powder, if my forehead gets really oily, I see a bit of it creasing.<br />

I'm going to be heading to Port Canaveral in a couple weeks for a 4 day Bahamas cruise, hopefully I'll find some good deals for Bobbi Brown at the outlet mall and duty free store. Totally interested in trying the shimmer bricks. </div>MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-65225303142012482112012-05-31T13:30:00.000-04:002012-05-31T13:30:01.376-04:00LippiesI don't usually get a lot of lip products because it takes me a long time to finish, but for work, I decided to get a couple new ones to use. The Benefit Ultra Plush gloss is something I got from a seminar, it can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart for about $18CAD.<br />
I like my natural lip colors, so it's no surprise that I would purchase something subtle.<br />
The products are Benefit Coralista lipgloss, Lancome L'absolu Nu 201 and L'oreal Colour Riche Balm in Caring Coral.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie9PG3Tc1OViCDW-6Eqmx0ykWDB9cTREc_Oxv6xXetDva_IBpyIriiN2gsnqOFLJzqJ1dYhHS8XMBNcJkTjF8J4unQtLHljoXKfYgh_GZb4NeE3HTg-GfPI2kbkaqquySUB5pGc6ou_Js/s1600/lippiesmay2012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie9PG3Tc1OViCDW-6Eqmx0ykWDB9cTREc_Oxv6xXetDva_IBpyIriiN2gsnqOFLJzqJ1dYhHS8XMBNcJkTjF8J4unQtLHljoXKfYgh_GZb4NeE3HTg-GfPI2kbkaqquySUB5pGc6ou_Js/s400/lippiesmay2012.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The Benefit Coralista Ultra Plush lipgloss came out a couple weeks ago at Shoppers Drug Mart. I think there's about 6 shades? All designed to match their boxed blushes. Coralista smells like very sweet lychee and has a very slick watery feel. It's not sticky at all which means it's not long lasting. At least my hair doesn't stick to my lips anymore.<br />
<br />
You can probably guess from the name that L'absolu Nu is a sheer lipstick. They were designed to enhance your natural lip color and this came the closest to my lips. This lipstick has a slight perfume scent to it and goes on quite sheer with a hint of color and shine. This doesn't last long at all, especially if I talk a lot. I normally use this at work when I don't feel like having too much color on my lips.<br />
<br />
As for the L'oreal Colour Riche Balm, I was convinced by Raeview's video from YT to get it in Caring Coral. I honestly didn't need anymore lipbalms so it's a bit of a spontaneous purchase. I kept this in my makeup pouch for the times I needed some lip color but forgot my other lipsticks at home. Not too fond of this product though because my lips started peeling and didn't feel moisturized at all. However, I do like how this applies very smoothly.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think I have too many lip products, but I bet there's plenty of you out there that have more than me. How does one finish them all?? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know I should be throwing most of these out due to the length of time I've had them, but I just can't get myself to throw them out...it's like they're my babies! </div>

I don't like the feeling of having a layer on my skin, although smooth, it feels so weird to me. I swear I get some of my break-outs from these silicone-feeling primers too.<br />
If you've read my blog while I was in Korea, you might have seen the Orbis products in one of my posts, yes I still have it even after 3 years hahaha. I just haven't used it ever since and it just sat around my drawer.<br />
I've also tried the Lancome La Base in a sample, still don't like the feeling of it >_<<br />
<br />
Thank goodness I didn't have to purchase the Porefessional, I got it as part of a seminar giveaway. That little tube is like $34! Although I do have to say you only need a tiny amount.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu_CV8uSUCAiViBtY1BA2grGcNVIngK481DJPEIlqClaWJlXUBB2_5fJFKVLVQYPjmjU2YEDtr6eZnQdlXtRSzUSyyHro4W1dQ7S7LtJgyLgGHdtMEtuAtnk2jEmiE3bVE0FMtauzMayk/s1600/siliconeprimer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu_CV8uSUCAiViBtY1BA2grGcNVIngK481DJPEIlqClaWJlXUBB2_5fJFKVLVQYPjmjU2YEDtr6eZnQdlXtRSzUSyyHro4W1dQ7S7LtJgyLgGHdtMEtuAtnk2jEmiE3bVE0FMtauzMayk/s400/siliconeprimer.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I think I'm going to stick with Laura Mercier primers or anything else that has a watery light feeling to it.<br />
Anyone like pore smoothing primers?<br />
<br />MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-5154110587237388162012-05-28T17:21:00.000-04:002012-05-28T17:21:00.881-04:00Summer Base MakeupSummer's practically here in Toronto and it feels like 35C today when you factor in the humidity @__@ Lucky for me, my condo is shielded by another one right in front so it doesn't get too hot inside.<br />
When it comes to summer base makeup, like most people, I like to know it won't melt off my face or feel heavy and icky, especially on hot humid days.<br />
<br />
I picked up the Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free with SPF 15 as a spontaneous purchase while I was in Buffalo. This is in shade Light to Medium. I'm glad it's oil free because the last thing I need is more shine in the summer.<br />
I also picked up the new Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 in shade Bisque 250 W $50CAD.<br />
I initially purchased Bisque 320 W which turned my skin orange after 5 minutes!!! I've never had this happen with any of the foundations I've tried with the exception of the Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation. I took it back to the store for a shade lighter which in the end, blended into my skin tone after oxidizing.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxpo-cFnbpXE4fKiwDw6tM8Abi3KVa5fe8zAcvtbvVtBsperPZEe7dah4HedTCN9SUl9pr4s03xrpcTHM_s4UY0j-dSEFvc1OoqvFW162sRV2T85SFzYAtOiPEDviu1DC3skxzdoAY-Vs/s1600/bblancome001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxpo-cFnbpXE4fKiwDw6tM8Abi3KVa5fe8zAcvtbvVtBsperPZEe7dah4HedTCN9SUl9pr4s03xrpcTHM_s4UY0j-dSEFvc1OoqvFW162sRV2T85SFzYAtOiPEDviu1DC3skxzdoAY-Vs/s400/bblancome001.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
The Lancome foudation is very creamy, not like a runny consistency. I find it applies best with a stippling brush and gently pressing it with a sponge to make sure it's properly blended.<br />
If you're looking at buying this foundation, I highly recommend you try it on your skin in-store and let it sit for about 5 minutes before purchasing it.<br />
The wear on this is very good, hence the 24hr, but I wouldn't say it's super long lasting if your skin is oily. When I blot my t-zone, some of the foundation would transfer onto the sheet. Everywhere else though, still looks relatively fresh.My skin doesn't feel like it's melting off and I'm surprised at how it sticks. When I was changing out of my black top, there were no smudges on the collar.<br />
<br />
As for the BB TM, it's what you would probably expect out of a tinted moisturizer. I find the coverage is a little more than sheer and it provides a nice even color to my skin. I blend it on with my fingers and use a sponge to tap around to make sure it's blended. The texture is quite creamy but I wish it had a little bit more slip to it. Although oil free, my t-zone and the cheek area next to my nose would look shiny after a few hours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSvm6a2EaLpzLa0Nk25BrMliWoaPUbvWGftTVQKFN_8MWpdHQ4GXEQFDexvxqa2vrzCCRudDuRGffs0LPy4LmBLH60ZLOTw5OVJ1Pxip6rahlArnBwIvrbJbHRz0bkd-GKitFxKOv3tuE/s1600/bblancome002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSvm6a2EaLpzLa0Nk25BrMliWoaPUbvWGftTVQKFN_8MWpdHQ4GXEQFDexvxqa2vrzCCRudDuRGffs0LPy4LmBLH60ZLOTw5OVJ1Pxip6rahlArnBwIvrbJbHRz0bkd-GKitFxKOv3tuE/s400/bblancome002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The BB TM is slightly more yellow toned than the Lancome foundation, but both works well for my skin.MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-48531910475059107352012-05-09T12:00:00.002-04:002012-05-09T12:01:26.337-04:00PintrestHi everyone,<br />
Wow, I haven't been on Blogger for so long, I didn't realize they changed the post writing system.<br />
Anyway, have you heard of Pintrest? It's a website where you can post/link pictures you like from the internet and share it with others. I think sort of like a blog, but without words and just pictures.<br />
I'm doing a short summer internship for <a href="http://pinterest.com/Topbox/" target="_blank">Topbox's Pintrest page</a> which features makeup, their monthly subscriptions, hair, nails, fashion etc... If you're interested in those sorts of things, I would love if you followed any of their boards =) ThankQ~!<br />
<br />
I also bought a new foundation, hope to do a review soon since I'm still testing it out.MiuMiuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17258823551927020007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5027817651966405867.post-58948534323791751952012-03-24T19:04:00.000-04:002012-03-24T19:04:43.787-04:00My Beauty Diary MistWhile going grocery shopping at T&T, I noticed they started carrying more products from Taiwan. It used to be the My Beauty Diary masks, then Naruko and slowly a few more items from My Beauty Diary. The prices for the masks are decent, however, Naruko is quite expensive compared to what I've seen online.<br />
There was also a demonstrator when I went for Naruko products and I tried a moisturizer on my hand...totally turned off from it because of the fragrance, way too strong for my liking.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp_R42boRz7DzmRZld_gJ8WCWQS2zIn5K4bkDUNgUXR177WlJ28qTpY0mwqkssUx8SRL553SE13VSNv2XH3FXEQlYZONXGK6MfJwE76T3C3MOvNWPsiwEi_5G5C2to5rzY_Z-M9aGJKCk/s1600/mybeautymist002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp_R42boRz7DzmRZld_gJ8WCWQS2zIn5K4bkDUNgUXR177WlJ28qTpY0mwqkssUx8SRL553SE13VSNv2XH3FXEQlYZONXGK6MfJwE76T3C3MOvNWPsiwEi_5G5C2to5rzY_Z-M9aGJKCk/s400/mybeautymist002.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>I picked up a My Beauty Diary Orange Blossom & White Lotus Moisturizing Mist when I was there. I think it was about $3.50 for 60mL<br />
It's a nice size for the price and it fits in my purse without too much added weight. The mist comes out very fine and I spritz about 2-3 pumps, that's the right amount without soaking your skin too much. I usually like using makeup mists after blotting my skin later in the day and I find it really helps to refresh my skin/makeup and provide a nice dewy effect. If I have eyeshadows, I'll cover my eyes just in case it happens to smudge it.<br />
The mist is lightly fragrance with an orange and slight floral scent, nothing too overpowering.<br />
In case anyone is curious about the ingredients, here is the list... paraben free<br />

Even though I don't blog as often, I still try to fit in a post whenever I have time. And this time I got off school early.<br />
<br />
I went to Sephora to get my early birthday freebie and was quite surprised at what they offered. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment duos! It's the cherry tinted and un-tinted balms.<br />
I wouldn't have ever purchased the full size for $26CAD so it was nice that this was the gift.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzfrX36j1Pfprv40-9_3la7KjxY0y03-y32LNnJnC3AJLjZ64WcIZXomboRiBOUFgK8g6xkZItjn8LwM7hPBF6mgcXZVJs5nrZoQPBamxSBFDVITWVIGL8KJfIrKDrXhBenldcAoBQTzI/s1600/sephorabday2012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzfrX36j1Pfprv40-9_3la7KjxY0y03-y32LNnJnC3AJLjZ64WcIZXomboRiBOUFgK8g6xkZItjn8LwM7hPBF6mgcXZVJs5nrZoQPBamxSBFDVITWVIGL8KJfIrKDrXhBenldcAoBQTzI/s400/sephorabday2012.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Here they are compared to the Rosebud Salve...cute little minis right?<br />
The cherry tint didn't show up on my lips...blah! I think I like the Rosebud balm better though, it has a bit more slip than the Sugar Lip Treatments. But it's also nice that the Sugar ones have SPF.<br />
<br />
For a school assignment, I had to come up with a hair-do. I took some inspiration online and from manwomanfilm on YT and made it my own.<br />
The theme is a costume party and the hair is done to resemble a zebra. The imaginary dress has a lot of tulle and chiffon fabric that flows past the ankles.<br />
My friend was kind enough to let me experiment on her.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidQZTtdip98rStYpFZidw5rwFHreWB5REKtfG2tGbfKRpQjW7FtFe_siILZB9IXaM_JJkLBo0MsbW66OraGbjPcxPGMXk3XFXDpFqj0xhSAOkZN2bQxnl1cKVlsQJ-V0CFANkOjf2o08s/s1600/DSC_5198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidQZTtdip98rStYpFZidw5rwFHreWB5REKtfG2tGbfKRpQjW7FtFe_siILZB9IXaM_JJkLBo0MsbW66OraGbjPcxPGMXk3XFXDpFqj0xhSAOkZN2bQxnl1cKVlsQJ-V0CFANkOjf2o08s/s400/DSC_5198.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>I braided a silver ribbon on the bottom so it looks a bit more stripe-y and more like a zebra. The mohawk wasn't a high as I wanted, but you get the idea.<br />

I haven't disappeared completely, so busy with work and school! So bad for not posting in a while... =___='!!<br />
<br />
I was on AdamBeauty recently to restock on my favourite mascara (Fiberwig) and decided to peruse some of the other items that were available. Along came the Dolly Wink mascara and liner combo! It was about $15USD for the mascara/liner combo which is a pretty good deal. Only the volumizing formula was available.<br />
I'm always a bit iffy on using new mascaras or liners because I don't always have good experiences with them; they just keep smudging!! But seeing how it was a good deal, it went in my shopping cart.<br />
I'm sure there are a billion reviews on these products already, but I still wanted to share my 2 cents on it =D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYvzY5Ntiw895HH0YukeQDAjvmBrSbpyaJuIG-ihVIO-bfxSQg6zbSjd_vui3eVRDAtp_9Bwzn5qS_Fv_LR2ZJY5LVzRPQZt6jrCX-L-CcKXJu8XXU8_YkLBjbEwcRFuLPmrOFay6ubJg/s1600/dollywinkcombo004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYvzY5Ntiw895HH0YukeQDAjvmBrSbpyaJuIG-ihVIO-bfxSQg6zbSjd_vui3eVRDAtp_9Bwzn5qS_Fv_LR2ZJY5LVzRPQZt6jrCX-L-CcKXJu8XXU8_YkLBjbEwcRFuLPmrOFay6ubJg/s640/dollywinkcombo004.jpg" width="424" /></a></div>I'm used to using the Majolica Majorca automatic liners (which has a turning base to get the product out), so I didn't expect to see the Dolly Wink liner to not have the turning base.<br />
I was quite surprised to see that the pen tip was so thin, slightly thinner than the MJ one I use.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr72XsHc6t08hyphenhyphenHcWv3FxNMm4C33-wsJTIwb_N8WeOfKZWdcvQ30YO2W_6wosKFFAd5oykSaYYg3o5p7j9S1eM7YeVBHxohF4fIsDLLlDCzJQXHQ5cqt6_N1eLZra_qq3Uqgi14mfrqGU/s1600/dollywinkcombo002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr72XsHc6t08hyphenhyphenHcWv3FxNMm4C33-wsJTIwb_N8WeOfKZWdcvQ30YO2W_6wosKFFAd5oykSaYYg3o5p7j9S1eM7YeVBHxohF4fIsDLLlDCzJQXHQ5cqt6_N1eLZra_qq3Uqgi14mfrqGU/s400/dollywinkcombo002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Compared to the MJ BK920 liner, the Dolly Wink is much darker and doesn't have the shimmery finish like MJ. It was also a lot easier to apply and get the color on my lashline in one swipe. Whereas I usually use MUFA Aqua Liner 0L as a base for the MJ liner.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7UgwpTe1ZproU_8XCDDg_7BKKfC4mRMMXsRRU9_a1XbhbplcEtU3rXYQ6KjqudQK3OAFHMI1F0kxUJf9aR7mtFSDfPiANHsmR4ocONcaM_k5HI6lvR5EhLphFeJ5WgS_WKL6JhbOTHs/s1600/dollywinkcombo001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7UgwpTe1ZproU_8XCDDg_7BKKfC4mRMMXsRRU9_a1XbhbplcEtU3rXYQ6KjqudQK3OAFHMI1F0kxUJf9aR7mtFSDfPiANHsmR4ocONcaM_k5HI6lvR5EhLphFeJ5WgS_WKL6JhbOTHs/s400/dollywinkcombo001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Throughout the day, I was just thinking to myself that it's gonna smudge, but it stayed put pretty well. It didn't smudge to my lower lashline, but it did fade a bit, mostly on the inner corners. It's nothing too noticeable unless you look closely at the lashline.<br />
The mascara I was definitely very iffy on using, since the Fiberwig is the only mascara that didn't smudge. Even the MJ mascaras somehow smudged on me. <br />
Cool thing about it is that there's a small pointed sort of end to help reach the tiny corners and lashes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXlnkM8h36VLCA2aR1Bqy-mC_VaR4BPWOL0FMGaMnen9SXhKJ7bmGCjA1T3rctqygqR9Ia2_KdPJK508wvt2G4Wy9oojao1_yIRgcuCVBYq0XruCzpeqj2lr3F6bvr9xSIS0lRVxT7wn4/s1600/dollywinkcombo003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXlnkM8h36VLCA2aR1Bqy-mC_VaR4BPWOL0FMGaMnen9SXhKJ7bmGCjA1T3rctqygqR9Ia2_KdPJK508wvt2G4Wy9oojao1_yIRgcuCVBYq0XruCzpeqj2lr3F6bvr9xSIS0lRVxT7wn4/s400/dollywinkcombo003.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>So I gave it a try in hopes that it could be just as amazing as my precious Fiberwig...but it didn't stay. Not that it smudged like crazy, but throughout the day I noticed a bit of darkness around the edges or my eyes..not impressed. Even if I layered the Fiberwig on top, it didn't do much.<br />
Another thing I wasn't impressed about was the layering. When applying 1 layer of Dolly Wink, it was fine, then when I tried to add a second layer, it clumped easily.<br />
Oh well, I tried, back to Fiberwig it is.<br />
<br />
<br />
Ever since taking a course in fragrances (as part of my cosmetic curriculum), I didn't give fragrances much thought. I owned a few already, but threw most of them out after moving because I haven't used them for such a long time (I'm sure the top note has fleeted already).<br />
So, after taking my fragrance class, I really wanted a new fragrance that was lighter than the current one I had (Anna Sui Dolly Girl Bonjour L'Amour) and something I would use more often... along came Jo Malone.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7_S1Awd4gnXtJqFBWfIKcnrOu5KcsILGGMnD1lipUlcZ-4dnn7I0K1HuxdXNGfxzoCsBMQ7mX-4EZluyHe2W5kOoL8OPaYvHOLaVEjtzY7Uy74reoMfChBB-DZsagvISV3kcPw88XAyY/s1600/jompearfreesia.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7_S1Awd4gnXtJqFBWfIKcnrOu5KcsILGGMnD1lipUlcZ-4dnn7I0K1HuxdXNGfxzoCsBMQ7mX-4EZluyHe2W5kOoL8OPaYvHOLaVEjtzY7Uy74reoMfChBB-DZsagvISV3kcPw88XAyY/s640/jompearfreesia.jpg" width="425" /></a></div>If you go to Holt Renfrew at Yorkdale Mall, there is an SA that works at the counter name Joe. He was super nice and offered me plenty of samples until I found a fragrance I liked.<br />
I was initially attracted to Jo Malone because my manager wore the Wild Bluebell. It smelled so light and fresh so I figured I could find something light from Jo Malone.<br />
I was going to purchase this myself as a Christmas present, but Tim beat me to it. Probably because I mentioned the fragrance so many times to him.<br />
He got me <i><b>English Pear and Freesia</b></i>.<br />
It has <i>top notes</i> of melon and pear, with<i> middle notes</i> of freesia and rose, <i>finished off with</i> musk, patchouli, amber and rhubarb.<br />
I find the scent to be a bit like spicy pears. It's also light, sweet and delicate.<br />
<br />
But...rant-age...<br />
According to the Holt SA, Jo Malone is a unisex fragrance that can be layered, but seeing the price point of it, I doubt I'll get another one to layer, this 100mL bottle will take a long time for me to finish.<br />
I'm a bit peeved at the SA though. I mentioned that the fragrances were labelled as a cologne, so he told me that it only says that so men wouldn't be turned off from seeing it labelled as eau de toilette. He told me that it sounded too feminine and men wouldn't buy it. So instead, Jo Malone labelled them as cologne when it's supposedly an eau de toilette.<br />
Lies!! =_______=<br />
Seeing how I took the fragrance class and knew the differences between parfum, toilette and cologne, I should have known better. I knew colognes didn't have the longest lasting power, but I was still sucked into wanting the fragrance. Oh well...it was a gift from Tim and I wasn't going to complain, I just got an atomizer to spritz more on when it faded.<br />
<br />
Happy New Year once again and hope you all have a great weekend! Until next time!<br />

I sort of did this look off the top of my head, while using inspirations from other vampire looks I've seen on YT and blogs.<br />
<br />
I don't normally use so much color on my eyes, let alone dark colors. I blended purple and black on the lid and a bit of dark brown in the crease to add depth. I kept the shadows matte and didn't blend too high up to avoid looking like I have a black eye.<br />
As I blended the outer edge of the shadows, I used a tissue to guide the blending into a wing, but it's barely noticeable, if I blended out or downwards, my eyes would start looking droopy. Using false lashes also adds more oomph to the eyes.<br />
Brows were lightly filled in to keep them from over powering the eyeshadows. Sorry I don't have any close up pictures.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAKY4xvFFDUVnc_jszAPnVfDPVIyyGY2dfmHY5hc5tCWy3qb6O0276yeGcEfa7xT22u048u67_znermTwQbRZgUsRRzFacivQwN4n3XL6Nu99zxBFoQ6nxnSq4EjOTFJIh-NF40A4GIJY/s1600/vampire2011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAKY4xvFFDUVnc_jszAPnVfDPVIyyGY2dfmHY5hc5tCWy3qb6O0276yeGcEfa7xT22u048u67_znermTwQbRZgUsRRzFacivQwN4n3XL6Nu99zxBFoQ6nxnSq4EjOTFJIh-NF40A4GIJY/s400/vampire2011.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>I also kept my complexion matte since I imagine vampires are pale and dull looking. I added a bit of deep red blush and a contour shade under my cheek bones, but didn't over do it to keep the eyes the main focus.<br />
For the lips, I just dabbed foundation on and red lipstick on the inner center of the top and bottom lip.<br />
The blood is just fake blood from my SFX kit.<br />

It's always such a confusing thing for guys, if they ever have to go into a makeup store.<br />
<br />
I saw on the BB website the Marrakesh Chic Collection and fell in love with the Creamy Lip Color in Washed Seashell #52. It's described as a shimmering medium tone nude pink on the website.<br />
This is my first Bobbi Brown lipstick and I'm impressed by the packaging; a sleek black tube that has a nice click when I close the cover. No need to worry that it'll come loose if it fell out of my makeup bag.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi61NrVItZiPy0efI-_nwlRrYMysHQwLvcyQuWTwTJRWud39E8xUa8Gq0zlEGF3Bl1MA6zVBf3qdaso77QVF2n8qFm0ORzhZ8H04m6bfLSRsd-jLG9qkVdgYjGcHMQnSBKiMMPy83DGHwY/s1600/bobbi52shell.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi61NrVItZiPy0efI-_nwlRrYMysHQwLvcyQuWTwTJRWud39E8xUa8Gq0zlEGF3Bl1MA6zVBf3qdaso77QVF2n8qFm0ORzhZ8H04m6bfLSRsd-jLG9qkVdgYjGcHMQnSBKiMMPy83DGHwY/s400/bobbi52shell.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>It's a nude color indeed, it pretty much matches my lip color and adds a light shimmer on top without changing my lip color. The shimmer looks almost frosty rather than crystal-y shimmer. Great for everyday wear with subtle color on the lips.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw8wXTdyJvwsqmeVSE-9fOxWVdEfYKs2gA02MBysTFCaSwIuGOacq8utGCS0anPJzBSiLpwYs0NmfzIBGsQD0MwdADzCLw-mjzKahQb7gbTdD9Ll1Tn-aGYpBtasIUlYfna3l2syTaB4A/s1600/bobbi52shell002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw8wXTdyJvwsqmeVSE-9fOxWVdEfYKs2gA02MBysTFCaSwIuGOacq8utGCS0anPJzBSiLpwYs0NmfzIBGsQD0MwdADzCLw-mjzKahQb7gbTdD9Ll1Tn-aGYpBtasIUlYfna3l2syTaB4A/s400/bobbi52shell002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>My only complaint is the texture/feel of the lipstick. I figured a "creamy lip color" would feel very smooth and soft, but I had to use a bit more pressure to apply. It feels more like I'm applying a lip balm, but it feels sort of sticky on my lips. For comparison, my Laura Mercier gel lip colors are much softer and smoother when applying on my lips.<br />
I don't mind the stickyness too much unless it's windy outside, I wish it didn't feel like I'm wearing a lipgloss. I suppose the stickyness makes up for the lasting power. Also the lipstick has a slight plastic smell to it, which I'm not too fond of.<br />
Oh well, it's still a very beautiful nude pink, as if I didn't have enough lipsticks already, still worth a try since it's cheaper to purchase in the states.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib40hOn9ZDfS3sxZI9OJFcV5kJivnMJMvr4qAEKtQGa8fyPoQ5dbL9LSEq8Qr4-QEdp572g8VxuXYJPlTBzt6dOWNITZuOtiP4hyphenhyphenqe-Q_C2aII4RUinKBNwarnY29O7rWcoyPZ_w3TMUc/s1600/bobbi52shell003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib40hOn9ZDfS3sxZI9OJFcV5kJivnMJMvr4qAEKtQGa8fyPoQ5dbL9LSEq8Qr4-QEdp572g8VxuXYJPlTBzt6dOWNITZuOtiP4hyphenhyphenqe-Q_C2aII4RUinKBNwarnY29O7rWcoyPZ_w3TMUc/s400/bobbi52shell003.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Just a quick EOTD with Lancome Crystal Rose duo eyeshadow. I can't believe how sheer this goes on, sheerer than my beloved Japanese eyeshadows, which I think aren't super pigmented to begin with. Throughout the day, I notice the eyeshadow slowly fading out a bit.. -___-'<br />

Also blended the darkest shade on top of MUFE Aqua Liner in 2L and topped it off with Majolica Majorca liquid liner in BR601.<br />

Long time no blogHellooo! Wow it's been so long since I've blogged, been thinking about new posts for a while but didn't get a chance to do them, so here's a big one!<br />
I recently went to a L'oreal private sale, I didn't really see anything I liked and ended up picking up 2 items for about $10 total.<br />
Although I don't have much of a chance to use my nail polishes anymore, I still picked up the Essie polish in Too Too Hot, $2.50! Can't go wrong with that. I also purchased a Lancome shadow duo, which I assume is from an old collection since I can't find it on the Lancome Canada site. It was only $7.50, I didn't need any more eyeshadows so this was just a spontaneous purchase..so cheap!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjDEkEM1MYeMhc-ET1WiQmj1YqvjQdjeyPYz32e6G0wbrdaK1ObC2Fi7xKmRwSe-wNLDbIES3ZhnZqlaP7wnS9jIQ4GhiqXPM-iWOOjq2SonWObZZvgRxVehoCJLV1WDBAaxROuz2vMgU/s1600/lancomecrystal003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjDEkEM1MYeMhc-ET1WiQmj1YqvjQdjeyPYz32e6G0wbrdaK1ObC2Fi7xKmRwSe-wNLDbIES3ZhnZqlaP7wnS9jIQ4GhiqXPM-iWOOjq2SonWObZZvgRxVehoCJLV1WDBAaxROuz2vMgU/s400/lancomecrystal003.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I haven't actually used the shadows yet, so no pictures for now. The palette is called Crystal Rose and has a pinkish beige shade and grey with greenish tones, very nice when blended together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSOiUJjWq1VHlcTdflN11C-08mvQZ18qM7WGa-2FNoj1doZ0qvxubmqWuo3qYaYOwUSA0SJs2duUV3njeukgBmtQMzgmFhdBvvNyqiVa6jI5eIBXdIS7epFG5hthK9g71DOyDSaOdAUeo/s1600/lancomecrystal002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSOiUJjWq1VHlcTdflN11C-08mvQZ18qM7WGa-2FNoj1doZ0qvxubmqWuo3qYaYOwUSA0SJs2duUV3njeukgBmtQMzgmFhdBvvNyqiVa6jI5eIBXdIS7epFG5hthK9g71DOyDSaOdAUeo/s400/lancomecrystal002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>However, you can see that it's not super pigmented, so it's more of a daytime natural eye shadow duo.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG7kfWFQH01nELa3kP7YmFzctKlHRAoiLhv9nR2ANgBYGPqlSwEQ52pueb-mAZwZDcM3OcD_ObMNAA74Taq-SYPyD82ku0gqDDXLWJjFajzisYvSKF83rzuLOK5U37WH5k_tcFSjHIewQ/s1600/lancomecrystal001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG7kfWFQH01nELa3kP7YmFzctKlHRAoiLhv9nR2ANgBYGPqlSwEQ52pueb-mAZwZDcM3OcD_ObMNAA74Taq-SYPyD82ku0gqDDXLWJjFajzisYvSKF83rzuLOK5U37WH5k_tcFSjHIewQ/s400/lancomecrystal001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Even though I'm a makeup student, I stopped using so much makeup, mostly because it has to come off at school anyway for my classmates to practice on me, or I just don't feel a big urge to have so much color on my eyes anymore. I remember back when I was teaching in Korea, I would always have some sort of color on my eyes.<br />
Nowadays, it's either brown shadows, or just brown/black liners, with more focus on keeping my skin dewy looking. I'm a bit more obsessed with my base makeup because I found one I love, Bobbi Brown. Now to finish my Laura Mercier concealer and slowly move onto Bobbi Brown.<br />
Look how long my hair is now! So happy I can finally make a nice fish tail.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0wQRNESAxsT-C86WCpaxiZZHCdcbzBqI_-GXOu3-Q1V9uvO3RdCK_vchsWh3__GS5x3GeOTwBls9XoQc1_aQxm6H5fhOUBuB0siU1aO5OxJgCWlcNeQyBIzeUz4X8mbwv6rxKCvLLT0E/s1600/IMG_0344.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0wQRNESAxsT-C86WCpaxiZZHCdcbzBqI_-GXOu3-Q1V9uvO3RdCK_vchsWh3__GS5x3GeOTwBls9XoQc1_aQxm6H5fhOUBuB0siU1aO5OxJgCWlcNeQyBIzeUz4X8mbwv6rxKCvLLT0E/s400/IMG_0344.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>This semester, I started my special effects class. I have one more next semester doing more prosthetics. This semester is focusing on things that happen on the skin, like cuts, bruises, scrapes and burns. I haven't done burns yet, I'm pretty excited about it, as gross as it is. I hate seeing bloody things, but making a 3rd degree will be interesting.<br />
In the meantime, here are some things I've done so far.<br />
This is not on myself haha, I don't think I'll be able to construct one on my own face very well.<br />
This is a laceration on my partner's jawline because she didn't want it on her face.<br />

As much as I love them, I think I'd only use them when I go out to have fun, otherwise they're too crazy for day to day.<br />
As you can see, the post is about my cosplay at FanExpo Toronto, but first I'd like to show to you the makeup I used.<br />
<br />
I was going to purchase the Dolly Wink 01 eyeshadow at Pacific Mall to use with my lashes, but I didn't have time nor was I prepared to over spend on something I know would be over priced. But, my dear friend from Hong Kong surprised me with it in the mail! I remember asking her if these were available at Sasa and she told me no, so I was quite surprised to get the package and looked ridiculous with my smile when I opened it on the subway.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
Products used in order:<br />
Coffret D'or Fluffy Shine Eyes<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">Dolly Wink 01</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">MUFE Aqua Eyes 0L</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">MUFE Aqua Eyes 2L</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner BK920</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">Fiberwig Mascara Extra Long</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPKYny6s4P8o1esSMpZt_gWEqK0J0CP5tqH102NY2kQxxO9s9s_fm5Uu_w8UKDfqUXCWnffa6xudhbM01JnGqNFqFpUKb8wZNgWRLNFBKInvkJuYH-SY4DZIcViJiYhB8DUGSW2TZgINI/s1600/dollywink008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPKYny6s4P8o1esSMpZt_gWEqK0J0CP5tqH102NY2kQxxO9s9s_fm5Uu_w8UKDfqUXCWnffa6xudhbM01JnGqNFqFpUKb8wZNgWRLNFBKInvkJuYH-SY4DZIcViJiYhB8DUGSW2TZgINI/s400/dollywink008.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>How To:<br />
First apply Coffret D'or all over lids as a base, then:<br />
1. All over lid<br />
2. From lash line up halfway the lid<br />
3. Lined upper lash line<br />
4. Lined outer half of bottom lashes with MUFE 2L then smudged on top.<br />
I also used to MJ liner to fill the spaces of my upper lash line, then finish with Dolly Wink 02 Lashes. I snipped off a very tiny bit of the inner part and they fit perfectly.<br />
The lashes were a bit heavy though, whenever I blinked, I knew they were there, but it wasn't uncomfortable or anything.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHZZdeimLKgnQp7Ei2o8_g8nFcUJoB9DqDlIbXToCNoLfSHq81dD6JYe1dpZuxdLoOrIbq4zVjSz8xOySDbr8Ncyidlo9acrkWYIppXfhZ7d7To1WU4LKabfbQTE_3uj5giHyMJP8P11U/s1600/dollywink010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="335" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHZZdeimLKgnQp7Ei2o8_g8nFcUJoB9DqDlIbXToCNoLfSHq81dD6JYe1dpZuxdLoOrIbq4zVjSz8xOySDbr8Ncyidlo9acrkWYIppXfhZ7d7To1WU4LKabfbQTE_3uj5giHyMJP8P11U/s400/dollywink010.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I didn't do swatches of the eyeshadow since there are many bloggers that have done so, I'm just a bit late on the Dolly Wink bandwagon. However, I do have to say that I love the pigmentation of the eyeshadows and the lasting power! They're so easy to apply with my fingers.<br />
<br />
Being a little vain before I got to the FanExpo, I kept looking at my eyes since I was so amazed at how the lashes transformed them. I totally forgot to use lipstick/gloss that day.<br />

My nerdyness comes out.<br />
I was a bit shy to ask people if they would take a picture with me, it seems kinda weird. I had a few that asked for my picture, or when I was posing for a picture with other cosplayers, I saw people snapping away with their cameras.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I think I looked pretty darn close to Rinoa from Final Fantasy 8. This isn't the first time I cosplayed her though, the other times I had black pants on and no boots. For FanExpo I went all out and got the boots including the grey detail on them, did the shorts and went anime eyes with the lashes. I think I also get a bonus point because I'm Asian already with my long hair and side swept bangs like Rinoa.<br />
<br />
For those who don't know who this is, it's Tom Felton a.k.a. Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies.<br />

Got them to go with my FanExpo costume for those super anime eyes.<br />
Hopefully I'll get some good pictures of my costume for FanExpo, if anyone else is going to the Toronto one on the 26th, I'll be dressed up as a video game character!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS4oH3BV8TIKNi88FHdmKxiIDv6Abp0ix4sjngGeRk2dUBXddpCPhU5zBTGMS7qJBUQ-3OavJxqfV8hZgCBnB3cKOChwA8TyLW13VZGiCmbMjvPnIUBet19gaAnopypI9yb_UgkWRhdu8/s1600/dollywinkno2front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS4oH3BV8TIKNi88FHdmKxiIDv6Abp0ix4sjngGeRk2dUBXddpCPhU5zBTGMS7qJBUQ-3OavJxqfV8hZgCBnB3cKOChwA8TyLW13VZGiCmbMjvPnIUBet19gaAnopypI9yb_UgkWRhdu8/s400/dollywinkno2front.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Giving them a test run, so far so good. I had to snip off a wee bit on the inner part of the lashes. They're so crazy but I love them. Not the most natural lashes but it does a lot for my eyes without even using eye shadow on top. Very light, feathery and not plastic looking at all, I like.<br />

Eyeshadows, blushes etc.. haven't really caught my eyes the past year, maybe a few things but I think it's because I have too many products to finish first.<br />
<br />
So I decided to switch to using some American brands. It's also a lot cheaper too, unless you buy it in Canada. For this haul, I only purchased the Bobbi Brown foundation in Canada...$55CAD compared to $45USD, is that ridiculous? Plus our 13% tax on top.<br />
And I got the Sephora round powder brush #41 for only $36, I think it's $45 here? My only complaint is the white bristles...when I load up the brush with the pressed powder, I don't know how much I actually pick up and sometimes I end up powdering too much.<br />

However, I recently found out that Benefit was being pulled out of Holt and they weren't going to carry the brand anymore...so sad, and I was about to get my brows done.<br />
<br />
Since they weren't going to be sold at Holt anymore, there was a mini sale going on with a bunch of the Benefit products, ranging from $15, $20 and $25. The boxed blushes were all $20, cream eyeshadows were $15 and skincare was from $20-25! There were also things like the concealer kits, lipgloss and lip sticks, liquid blushes, eyeshadows and a few other eye brow things.Cheap right? But I only picked up the High Brow.<br />
BTW, if you're in Toronto, head to Holt at Yorkdale, the lady told me the sale ends this week, but I'm not sure if she meant Friday or Saturday.<br />

You basically use it to highlight your brow bone and this helps give your eyes a nice lift. The shade is a pale pink color, I don't think it's very universal and there was only 1 color to choose from.<br />
You draw a line under your brow on the outer half like so...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh35ECnsQfJwp3kZBOE4mIN2XVB46qKiuUoYdJHvdldVdtRiUSvYtyjv56S2bk08jmiymJmTZQfg1MAQy91QK270fZobNDUAggea3E0q6eOK_9eFy65kKKcD0MhsXbhOGwf-CR9DscjZPA/s1600/bhighbrow002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh35ECnsQfJwp3kZBOE4mIN2XVB46qKiuUoYdJHvdldVdtRiUSvYtyjv56S2bk08jmiymJmTZQfg1MAQy91QK270fZobNDUAggea3E0q6eOK_9eFy65kKKcD0MhsXbhOGwf-CR9DscjZPA/s400/bhighbrow002.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Then blend away with your finger or brush. I find that 1 swipe is enough, otherwise it gets a bit difficult to blend. The product feels a bit chalky and if I add too much, I can see a white-ish hue under my brows rather than a natural highlight.<br />

If you've never heard of it, it's a beauty boutique opened by Shopppers Drug Mart. They carry a wide variety of products like NARS, Smashbox, Benefit, Cargo and...*gasp* Bobbi Brown!!!! I finally found somewhere that I get purchase Bobbi Brown products...without having to deal with the snooty service at Holt Renfrew, plus you can earn those Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum points at Murale.<br />
I spent about 45mins at Murale getting a mini makeover and trying out their base makeup. The girl was super nice, if you ever go, look for Shannon.<br />
I purchased the Skin Foundation SPF15 in Warm Beige 3.5, which gives a light-medium coverage and leaves a slight dewy finish...which I love. I don't like fully matte makeup.<br />
<br />
I also purchased the Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in soft sand when I visited Buffalo. Darn you Canada, why are things so expensive... I got the powder for $34USD and it sells for $45CAD here.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaxoXCJylMtLQVqC5H5ko34GinIC8ISxX4fzvspx2pOp8Rmgp3dPPlEV5fAvUyBv_MCfOzpXoWA9ZnOcBVueAaOuI2hDGcV6SHCpJMJXeZXy4sa5TZTKmf-80i98G4k_9xwI4y0zUA4NY/s1600/bobbibrownhaul004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaxoXCJylMtLQVqC5H5ko34GinIC8ISxX4fzvspx2pOp8Rmgp3dPPlEV5fAvUyBv_MCfOzpXoWA9ZnOcBVueAaOuI2hDGcV6SHCpJMJXeZXy4sa5TZTKmf-80i98G4k_9xwI4y0zUA4NY/s400/bobbibrownhaul004.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>In case you ever need a comparison for online shopping, here I'm comparing the shade with Fit Me 210, they're very similar except Fit Me is a bit more yellow toned.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKhxWbmhOMyH7qgrcUuuiStBSHKAEQLlYlYyN7f6YR5Lg7ai-zRE8syU37excBAZaB4k549BxrIshF3usfFuvS8W594_m6z_o0S9pX2PSyXcxo0TMJI7oDeRfeHTpz8byoqaDJ05e2ZF0/s1600/bobbibrownhaul003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKhxWbmhOMyH7qgrcUuuiStBSHKAEQLlYlYyN7f6YR5Lg7ai-zRE8syU37excBAZaB4k549BxrIshF3usfFuvS8W594_m6z_o0S9pX2PSyXcxo0TMJI7oDeRfeHTpz8byoqaDJ05e2ZF0/s400/bobbibrownhaul003.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I LOOOOOVEE my new foundation. I normally use a sponge to blend, but I can get away with using my fingers to blend and the result is a smooth even finish. The Fit Me needed a sponge for better blending.<br />
BB definitely has more coverage than the Fit Me foundation, but a lower SPF.<br />
Lasting power is quite good, my skin was more dewy by the end of an 8-10 hour day but it looked so smooth. The foundation feels quite runny and it also feels very light weight which helps it give a light-medium coverage. 1 full pump is also enough to cover my face without any being wasted.<br />
I used the pressed powder on top and it matted my skin very well, which I wasn't too fond of, but after an hour or so my skin looked more dewy when the oils started to produce on my skin.<br />
