Ok. but before you scroll down, I had to show you this sad bowl of pho I had last week. This was a large size. Everything in Asia seems to be a lot smaller, especially with food portions, so I ordered the large for 9000won. It was already expensive to begin with, but I wanted pho SOO badly...and I got it. But it was probably the worst pho I've ever had @__@ The soup was bland, there were about 4 pieces of beef which were tough and there was no tendon!!!! So sad... how I miss real pho. The yellow pickled radishes were probably the best thing on the table.

Tim had some grilled chicken rice and I tell you, this meal is not a man sized portion.

So I did my first winter class and I must say my students are either really dumb...or really stupid. I wrote on the board "no cellphones, MP3 players etc etc" and this girl just breaks her cellphone out as I walked by! Of course I take it. She looks at me with puppy dog eyes and says "dictionary". There's no excuse, nor will I allow my students to push me around anymore, so I tell her that she could have asked me or asked the co-teacher that was teaching with me. I do not think I'm bullying my students at all as they are the opposite of common sense and manners, so they deserve it XD

Writer's Block

Omg..I'm feeling it right now. Lately, I haven't been posting as often because I haven't went shopping for new things and I'm a bit stumped on what to blog about. I try not to add too much personal stuff/rants because I'm sure many readers wouldn't like to read it. XD
I'm a bit worried I'll be lagging with the posts when I go home since I don't have such an easy access to Asian skincare/makeup items.
I have one little item that I want to show you before I continue babbling nonsense.
About a month ago I was on the hunt for an eyecream. I didn't want to splurge on anything yet so I went to Skinfood to see what they had.
I can't remember all the formulas that were available so you'd have to check it out on the Skinfood website.
I noticed I've had itty bitty wrinkles under my eyes for a while now so I got the Black Raspberry Eye Cream for wrinkles. I'm not too sure what the Korean blurb on the jar says because it didn't come with an English translation.
This cream comes in a heavy glass jar with 25g of product and I purchased this for about 15000won. Not too shabby for an eyecream.

I don't think it's really anything that special. The BR eyecream has a strange scent to it. It's not fruity or floraly. It's almost like what the plants outside smell like after a heavy rainstorm.
The cream has a light pink color to it and it's kinda thick. It takes a while for my eye area to fully absorb the cream. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass because I usually wash my face and hair and then put on my contacts. If the cream hasn't fully absorbed, it makes it very difficult to open my eyes up with my fingers to pop in the contact lens.
With this wrinkle cream, I don't really see much of a difference. I've been using it for at least a month and still nothing. I'm not too sure how long it's supposed to take to show some sort of results though. But I'm fine with using this cream for now since I need to moisturize the eye area until I find something else later.

If there's something I love about Korea, other than the makeup, it's the cafes! They're so popular here that on a street near me (that's right next to a university) there's at least 5 cafes lined up. Dunkin Donuts is one of them and the drinks aren't cheap. They don't taste that good either. Another one is called Angel In Us Coffee (haha....angel anus coffee). It's one of my favourites, but the drinks are so expensive. About 4000won for a Starbucks tall size @__@ The cafe near has an angel theme to it so the lights have feathers on them, the couches and pillows have the angel logos on them.
If you decide to sit in to drink your coffee, depending on the barista's skill level, they make you a pretty yummy and beautiful drink.
I can't rememeber the exact name of the drink on the left, it's something caramel crunch and my drink on the right is called a Pink Angela Macchiato. It just tastes like..pink. Actually the bottom has a bit of condensed milk so there's a bit of that yummy flavour in it.

There's also a blue and yellow macchiato. When I went to try those, they totally screwed up the beautiful layers, you wouldn't even know it was yellow or blue. The blue one was mocha flavoured and I think the yellow one was caramel.
I apologize if this post kinda sucked XD I'll try to bring in some more posts this week. BTW..is it me or is Blogger slow at showing updated posts? I've noticed that some people may have updated, yet it doesn't show on my blogroll or followers that it updated until a few days later.
There's only 1 more month till I'm in Hong Kong and I feel a crazed itch up my ass when I think of the things I want to purchase. Best of all, I'll be in HK during my birthday! WhoooWhheeee!! Itamae Sushi here I come!!!!!!! Plus in March there's a chance I'll get to meet Miss Yumeko in person =D

Officially 8 More Months

Good morning everyone on the otherside of this world and good evening to those on my side of the planet =)
8 more months! Well..not really, more like 8-1/2 months left in Korea.
So I ended up not seeing Bolt, so sad...I didn't think that many people would be watching movies on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. According to my co-teacher, most of the theatres take reservations for ticket purchase...blah I say! Did you know that in Korea when you purchase a movie ticket, you don't wait in line. Instead, you take number and wander around the theatre till it's your turn. I like that idea.
Remember from me last post I talked about the Smile Cheek Pearls? Well I tried as hard as I could to take a picture with it on. I'm not very good at taking self pictures without making myself look chubby XD Also, my nose is huge... soooo...cellphone cameras don't do justice for me.

This was just a look that I usually do, especially if I don't feel like having noticable colors on my eyes, but this time I added the EH Smile Cheek Pearls to show everyone what it looks like. I'm starting to use the pearls on top of my blush everyday, I love the pearly sheen it leaves. I don't think you'd really notice it cuz of the picture quality, but it's there ~.^

I always apply my blush (and the Cheek Pearls) on an angle towards the hair line to help soften the roundness of my face.

Moving on, I got a few samples of the Skinfood Black Sesame Hot Mask and I finally decided to try it out. Thank goodness I didn't buy the whole thing because this irritated my face before it was time to wash it off @__@
The Black Sesame Hot Mask is one of Skinfood's newest addition to the face packs.
"The mask opens up pores with warm heat of sald and sugar powder and eliminates waste material in a rough skin affected by the accumulated keratin. It provides an amazing silkiness to skin with nourishing black sesame extract"
These English translations crack me up. After cleansing your skin, you apply the mask while your face is still damp and massage it slightly. You leave it on for 3-5 minutes then rinse off and voila!

Well, the bad news is there was no warmth whatsoever. It smelled like a really strange black sesame soup dessert thing and it also irritated my skin. I don't think I do well with Skinfood's wash off packs. My skin is too sensitive to the masks that I don't even want to try any other wash off packs. I've tried the Herb Green Tea Pack and washed it off before I even fully applied it because it felt kinda burn-y.
Good news is, you now know what the mask looks like and how I don't like it. XD

This stuff looks like a black gooey mess. The rough sesame seeds make it difficult to spread and massage it evenly. I left it on for 5 minutes, I really shouldn't have as it didn't feel too nice. Looks nasty doesn't it. You can notice my face was starting to get a bit pink because of the mask >_<
Hmmm..I don't seem to look that different without makeup hehe

I hope everyone had a fun New Year's. I was thinking about when my makeup obsession started and it was in the fall of 2007. I'm pretty sure it was when I discovered the Muse's blog and the lovely Majolica Majorca and Lavshuca winter palette. I liked makeup prior to that but never really thought about the colors, application etc etc. It's so exciting now! XD I think my resolution should be only to buy makeup pieces I need.
