DejaVu Fiberwig Lash Up Mascara

Is it me or are blogs not as popular anymore? I think most people have gone to YT for reviews on makeup now. I'm not a camera person so I don't think I will make videos, I tried and I just didn't like it.
I think it's nice to still have a blog though, because if you're looking for something specific, you can easily Google the product to read the review rather than having to browse through videos, listen to the intros, skip the parts that you don't want to hear.. etc.. But that's just me

Onto the review! I think I have a mascara obsession...  seems like I get more mascaras than anything else.
I've seen this DejaVu Lashup mascaras on a few Asian blogs already so I was super curious to try it. I've been a loyal fan of the Dejavu mascaras for quite some time now (except the volumizing one, it smudges).
This one is new to the line and promises to give a better curl to the lashes with its quick drying formula.
The brush has long and short bristles alternating along the curve. I don't find the short bristles do much, it's mostly full of mascara and it doesn't comb onto the lashes very well. The long bristles are great though, and because of the way the brush is curved and the position of the bristles, my inner and outer lashes can get a coating of mascara very easily.
Although it's supposed to be a fiber mascara, I don't actually notice the fibers. So for anyone that's not a fan of the super fuzzy fiber mascaras, you might like this.
Just like the other Dejavu mascaras, this one also washes out with warm water and stays put through sweat, oil and tears.
Before picture of my curled lashes...

After! It doesn't give a lot of volume, but layering it on 3-4 times helps. I think this is probably the best mascara that actually keeps my lashes curled throughout the day. The formula is slightly wet but dries very quickly which helps the curl stay put. Amazing!

I haven't seem Adambeauty carry it yet, so I got mine from Sasa.com for about $17CAD.

Long Overdue Post

Sorry I've been MIA, I haven't much to blog about lately, so here's a big post XD
Yesterday, I went out with a few friends whom I haven't seen since the orientation in September. I haven't been keeping in touch with most of the teachers I've met. I'm not good at talking to people...you know when sometimes you don't click with some and do with others? Well, for these friends, I felt like we knew each other for years. I dunno why we didn't go out before!
One of them took us to a magician's bar that he hangs out at everyweek to practice. We got to see 2 up close and personal magic shows at the bar and it was SOO amazing!!! The best part was the 2 mini shows was 30000won and it included all you can drink alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks! I'm bummed I didn't take any pictures!! If you come to Seoul, I'll definitely let you know where it is.

Today, I went out to do some window shopping/getting some swap items and I happened to find Pepper Lunch. I've actually tried looking for it before and couldn't find it. I've had it in the Hong Kong branch and it was SUPER tasty!!! I don't think I've shown a picture of it, but the picture below is from Hong Kong.
The Pepper Lunch in Korea was really disappointing. Not only was the portion of beef small, but it was dry and lacked the Pepper Lunch herbed butter!!! Seeing this picture makes me drool..

I rarely play around with different looks, so today's look wasn't anything special. I used my T'estimo Grande Shine Eyes #02. It has a really nice icey lavender shade. It doesn't pop out as much as the Lunasol Purple Gradation palette so this is good if you want subtle colors.
I've shown this look a while ago for Lady L's contest, but in that picture, I've added the Coffret D'or Shining Eyeliner. This time I didn't use the Shining Eyeliner and I've used the P&J Eyegloss in 03 as a base.

I looove the P&J cream shadow. It's so smooth and it doesn't crease! Normally, after a few hours this palette would show signs of creasing (even with UDPP), but with the P&J cream shadow used as a base, there was no creasing and little fading.
I blended the gray shade almost halfway up to make this look stand out a bit more, but you don't notice it in the photos...actually the colors just don't appear very well in the pictures.

I think I look like a mess in this picture haha. I was rushing to head out the door cuz I was hungry!

I found a vintage store in Myeong Dong and it takes a lot of patience to go through the clothes. I found this long top with a printed necklace dangly thing and it was only 5000won! I added my glasses necklace as well so it wouldn't look too plain.

Again, Vivi always seems to start selling their issues that are a month ahead. I grabbed June issue because sometimes they sell really quickly.
You can see on the bottom that I got the ring that Miss Mona helped me make! I wanted a cluster ring for a long time already but couldn't seem to find the right one, so I asked Mona if she could make it for me. You're a total genius! I got it in a silver, black and clear Swarovski crystal mix so it'll match with my clothes easier. I love it!!! Thankq again!! =D Visit her store here!

Sorry I didn't take a close up, I'm in a bit of a rush to post this up so I can sleep, it's almost 2am @__@ But take a look here for a close up =)
I took a quick glance at the Vivi magazine and saw these Samantha Thavasa bags and they're so pretty and girly!!

The lovely Ayumi...I'm keeping my eye out for that book! But I really doubt that Korea will have it.. I'm not even too sure what's in it at the moment.

Finally, a different way of using the Maquillage GR366 palette. I prefer the look from the tutorial on the Maquillage website because it looks more summery. I think this would look nice for a night out look.

Lady L's Contest #1 Entry

I finally got off my ass to do Lady L's contest #1. This is a look for the holidays and it actually took me forever to get the eye makeup the way I wanted it. The Aube Jewellery Shower eyes was so hard to blend!!! GGARRHHH! I don't think I love the palette as much as before. It makes me look like I have a bruised eye, so I have to blend in some silver shades to soften it. Anyway here are my looks plus close ups of my eye. Good luck to those who entered!

I finally got my plaid tights! Love em!!! This is a one piece top, the skirt looking part is attached to the gray shirt.
I'm slowly trying to change my wardrobe to more girly girl things. I usually opt for a simple top, jeans and Converse, so un-girly XD. Next I gotta find me some nice boots and heels that don't kill my wide ugly feet. Flats can only do so much for me, I want something more girly!

And my 12000won hat that actually flattens the side of my hair a bit to much. It's actually harder to wear than I thought. If I don't have my bangs in certain positions, it looks like it's sticking on my fore head, or my hair on the side looked mushed etc etc...

Everything is so pale...I don't understand how some bloggers like Yumeko or Fuzkittie can get such good pictures of their Japanese brand eye makeup, it just doesn't show well when I take them >_<

What I used:
Skinfood Aloe Sun BB Cream 02
UDPP
Sana Concealer
Lavshuca Loose Powder in Lucent
Integrate e/l black
MAC Fluidline in Blitz and Glitz
Coffret D'or Star Dazzling Liner WT-04
Aube Jewellery Shower Eyes #31
Coffret D'or 3D Lighting Eyes #03 silver shade only
Diorshow mascara
Deja Vu Fiberwig
T'estimo blush in PK-18
Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex BE205

I didn't realize how many items I used until I listed them XD
I used the look from the December issue of Vivi magazine as a guideline cuz I loved the look so much. (First scan on my previous post)

My Love

A while back I posted my mini haul from Sasa and this included the LE of the Winter Fiberwig mascara. It's actually nothing special aside from the packaging and color of the tube.I saw on Rouge Deluxe's blog that in Japan, one of the LE Winter Fiberwig is blue!

Compared with the regular packaging it's nothing too spectacular. The regular tube is red with a silver top while the LE one has a deep metalic pink tube and a silverish pink top. This wouldn't be something I collect as I go through this mascara like mad.
This is THE best mascara, my love, the Fiberwig. The one piece of makeup that I can't live without and the only one I use. Even if I try other mascaras, I always use this as a top coat just in case the other mascara will smudge. (because they had)
Although this does not plump up your lashes as much as other mascaras, the lengthening of this mascara is pretty amazing. It contains wee little fibers that hold on to your lashes and creates an almost fake lash look. I've had comments from some of my friends thinking I had falsies on. I've never had any problems with the fibers falling out, so it works perfectly for me since I wear contacts.
This is also my love because it lasts and it does not smudge!! My eyelids are oily so it's quite frustrating to pick out a good mascara. I thought the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander would work. I read reviews on how it's hard to remove, which is true, but it still smudges! Damn thing.
The Fiberwig is the only one that's budge proof, even with crying. The good thing about it, it's easy to remove. This is available on Sasa, Sephora and Adambeauty.
Another mascara that I've tried back in the highschool days (before it became celeb popular, I swear!) is the Kiss mascara. My mama got this at a spa show as a little souvenier for me. turns out this was my first favourite mascara.
This mascara is the only other one that does no smudge and only comes off when it's time to be removed. The formula is created so that it forms tiny tubes around your lashes. Best thing about it is removing only requires warm water and then mascara will come off like little tubes. The only down side is it doesn't create as much length and volume that I like, but this is still a good mascara to try. It's available on Sephora, I'm not too sure about the price.

Steff hotdog is a hotdog chain from Denmark. Looks tasty, but it's quite bland. I'm not even sure that was real bacon bits.

I was soooo excited to find ramen! I saw through the window that the bowls were huge, so I assumed that there would be a Western sized portion of noodles. Turns out this is the smallest portion of noodles I had for 6500won. In the picture, it looks like I finished 3/4 of it already when I haven't even started yet. It's supposed to be Cha Shu ramen, but it just tastes like boiled pieces of pork. The tasty soup base makes up for the crummy pork pieces.

Have a great weekend everyone!

EOTD: Grande Shine Eyes

I got bored so I decided to do an EOTD with one of T'estimo's last palettes released before the brand was killed off. Don't get me wrong, I love the new replacement, Coffret D'or. I feel that most of the items are kind of similar to the T'estimo line with some slight differences.
I've done an EOTD with the Grande Shine Eyes palette in 02, which I purchased off some store on Ebay for $36ish sometime last year.
One of the major factors that caused me to get this was the tutorial that came out with these palettes. I luuurrve it!! (see below)
Just a quick review. The shadows and liner are quite pigmented, except the main shade. The main shade is a sort of lavender blue and it's not as smooth as the other shades and it's also not super pigmented.
The shadows and the liner fade quite easily, even with UDPP. After maybe 4-5 hours or so, I need to do touch up which gets kind of annoying.
The liner shade goes on very pigmented. The eyeliner brush that comes with it just sucks. It doesn't spread the product evenly so I have to go over it with a sponge tip applicator to smooth it out.
All in all, this isn't the best palette because it lacks the staying power, especially since I have oily eyelids, blah! The Coffret D'or 3D Lighting Eyes hold up much better than its predecessor.

What I used:
Sana Concealer
Grande Shine Eyes 02
Coffret D'or Star Dazzling Liner WT04
DejaVu Fiberwig mascara

I did pretty much the exact same thing as the video except the shadow and liner on the bottom. I also lined my eyes with the glitter liner instead of dotting it on.

I must be either really shitty at taking pictures or my eyes are messed up because I can see that crease thing happening there. This isn't makeup that was on for more than 10 minutes. Well as long as it doesn't look like this in person XD
And here's the lovely video! If you look up Kanebo Modern on Youtube, you'll see the other video that creates a more dramatic look. They also use the Grande Shine Eyes palette but I can't remember which one. Enjoy!

I need to find a good eyecream, but at the moment I can only go for cheaper ones, such as Skinfood. Maybe they'll have a good one.

Barbie: The Makeup

Did I excite you with the title? I think every MAC addict will fall in love with this. I'm not a big user of MAC except for their fluidline, even then I don't love it. I first heard of the Barbie line when MAC released their limited edition stuff, of course not being a MAC fan, I didn't buy any of the products. I was browsing around blogs and noticed on Makeup For Life that there was a new makeup collection by Barbie, except it's its own brand rather than teamed up with MAC. I went to search for Barbie and found it at a drugstore. However, for a drugstore brand I think it's quite pricey. I can't remember the prices so you'll have to check out Makeup for Life.

All of the items have a sleek black look to them. The SA put the Sheer Glow Foundation, primer and powder on my hand. There was a set that had the hand cream and powder in it so I asked the SA how much. She told me it was 20000 won. I was so retarded (this is what I get for not knowing Korean), I found out at the cash register that if I get the hand cream and the powder, it would be 20000 won cheaper, kind of like a coupon promo thing. So I ended up not getting either item as the powder was 34000won whoa! The SA probably felt bad so she gave me some samples of the Sheer Glow Foundation. I haven't really tested it out on my face because it's too light for my skintone. The SA kept talking to me in Korean and we had such a hard time understanding each other. She was quite happy to let me know that it was made in Italy and pointed to which shade would suit me. However, her choices were based on the fact that most women liked to have a whiter skintone, so all the shades she chose for me to test were way too light.

So pretty right? I have no clue if it's #1 or #2 shade. I know there are more shades as well, and I'm sure the sample is the wrong choice for me. The SA tested the pressed powders on my hand as well. Sadly it only came in 2 tones: Light Beige and Peach Beige, neither of which suited me. It has a light almost baby powder scent to it. She also showed/told me that I should apply the powder on in sweeping motions and not patting. I also tried the primer. It's a white transparent primer. It was kind of watery, similar to the Laneige emulsions. I'm not sure if there's a scent to it as she put foundation on top already.

I have not tested this on my face as I've already mentioned. Judging by the testing on my hand, it's quite a watery foundation. I put this on the bottom of my forearm when I got home and it kinda slid around a bit if I moved my arm. Even though it had a watery consistency it's not that bad because you know it's a light foundation. It doesn't have super coverage and I believe it's got light-medium coverage. It spreads very smoothly and leaves a dewy almost shiny finish, even though the pamphlet says it's a matte finish. It feels very silky when it settles down though.
I think I'm gonna stick to looking for my HG BB cream first instead of purchasing these XD

My Sasa package arrived! The new Sana undereye concealer and my LE Winter DejaVu Fiberwig *drools*. Will post a review later on.

Remember how I mentioned that a waffle store had a promo? The promo was if you make a 10000won purchase or more, you get a free sample of a Hanskin BB cream. Turns out this sample was a full sized tube of the Super Magic BB Cream (30g). Hanskin has 2 sizes and the waffle place gave out the smaller size. I can't wait to try it!
