Christmas Present!

Since I'm being terrible at commenting back, I'm considering taking down my comment box and just leaving my cbox open. What do you think?

I know, Christmas is more than a month away, but how could I resist not buying a present for myself already? All the holiday collections make me drool. I could only pick one thing otherwise I'd be broke before buying everyone else's present.
My present for this Christmas (along with one more thing coming from Adambeauty) is the Aube Couture holiday palette. I didn't own anything Aube Couture before so why not start with this right?

The package is so beautiful. The case is a shiny pink with a silver border, white and jewelled snow motifs. This is also a huge compact, 3x4, to hold applicators, 3 lippies and eyeshadow.

I chose the 03 gold eyes x red lip variation. I figured gold would go with most outfits and I didn't own anything gold to begin with.
Isn't it so gorgeous? Sadly the snow design is only sprayed on top and is rubbed off immediately after touching it with the applicator.

All of the shades are very well pigmented except the main shade, even with BE Prime Time. I have to layer on the main shade 2-3 times to get the desired amount of color. However, even with all the layering, the shades lasted very long (about 10 hours) with no creasing and minimal smudging. I'm quite impressed by this.
The liner and brown shadow is very similar in color. A light hand is needed with applying it to the outer corner to prevent it from over powering the gold.
The lipsticks are very smooth and medium pigmented. I'm a bit sad how red these came out, it doesn't match me very well. The top shade is similar to the P&J lipstick 062 but a bit more rosy.

I lined with P&J pencil liner 01 before smudging the liner shade on. I think the gold appears more brownish than gold, but that's probably due to my skin tone.
I'm using the top and bottom lip color in the last picture. It doesn't look as red as I say, but it's just not very flattering.

Lady L's Contest #1 Entry

I finally got off my ass to do Lady L's contest #1. This is a look for the holidays and it actually took me forever to get the eye makeup the way I wanted it. The Aube Jewellery Shower eyes was so hard to blend!!! GGARRHHH! I don't think I love the palette as much as before. It makes me look like I have a bruised eye, so I have to blend in some silver shades to soften it. Anyway here are my looks plus close ups of my eye. Good luck to those who entered!

I finally got my plaid tights! Love em!!! This is a one piece top, the skirt looking part is attached to the gray shirt.
I'm slowly trying to change my wardrobe to more girly girl things. I usually opt for a simple top, jeans and Converse, so un-girly XD. Next I gotta find me some nice boots and heels that don't kill my wide ugly feet. Flats can only do so much for me, I want something more girly!

And my 12000won hat that actually flattens the side of my hair a bit to much. It's actually harder to wear than I thought. If I don't have my bangs in certain positions, it looks like it's sticking on my fore head, or my hair on the side looked mushed etc etc...

Everything is so pale...I don't understand how some bloggers like Yumeko or Fuzkittie can get such good pictures of their Japanese brand eye makeup, it just doesn't show well when I take them >_<

What I used:
Skinfood Aloe Sun BB Cream 02
UDPP
Sana Concealer
Lavshuca Loose Powder in Lucent
Integrate e/l black
MAC Fluidline in Blitz and Glitz
Coffret D'or Star Dazzling Liner WT-04

Coffret D'or 3D Lighting Eyes #03 silver shade only

T'estimo blush in PK-18
Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex BE205

I didn't realize how many items I used until I listed them XD
I used the look from the December issue of Vivi magazine as a guideline cuz I loved the look so much. (First scan on my previous post)

Coffret D'or and Aube Couture

I'm soooo freaking excited about Coffret D'or and Aube Couture's spring collections!!!!
Here's a blog with some close ups of the Coffret D'or Spring collection. It's in Chinese and my Chinese is too crap to translate anything. Also take a look at the Aube Couture Spring collection. The Aube Couture (previously known as only Aube) website currently features only the lipsticks, but the blog has some close ups of the palettes and the blushes.

Aube Jewelry Shower Eyes

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend. I didn't really do much. Took some family reunion pics, worked and FINALLY saw The Dark Knight. I liked it, but I thought the movie was a wee bit too long. It had me on the edge of the seat like the last Lord of the Rings when it seemed like the movie was gonna end, but it ain't ending!
Anyway, I did an EOTD with the Aube Jewelry Shower Eyes #31 palette. This was actually the first palette I got in purple because I always thought purple made me look like I had a black eye. But this palette is ok because it's got tons of nice shimmer in it, which I likie very much. I didn't use any eyeliner in this, I tried with the MAC Fluidline in Blitz and Glitz, but black just makes it look funny.
What I used:
Aube Jewelry Shower Eyes #31
Shu Uemura Pro Concealer 5YR
Imju DejaVu Mascara
Lavshuca Loose Powder in Lucent

purple shower

I'm sure this palette might be considered outdated to some, but I just purchased this a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to try it out until today.
I purchased the Aube Jewellery Shower Eyes in #31 from Adam Beauty for about $28CAD, I can't really remember. But it's not too bad considering Japanese brands are high quality makeup.
The palette comes with 4 different colors, a highlighter, two main colors and a liner. The colors are medium pigmented and they go on smoothly. The highlighter, well I wouldn't really say a highlighter, is more of a creamy eyeshadow that contains a hefty amount of silverish glitter, even though it looks white. I used this as the last step when applying the shadows as it gives my eye an extra pop of glitter. The two main shades are nothing too special. There is a pale blue shade that looks slightly purple when applied and the second shade is just a typical purple without alot of shimmer. The liner shade feels more like cream to me and it goes on very smoothly, but not pigmented enough for me.
The case is made of sturdy plastic and there is a mirror inside. It also comes with two applicators. One applicator is just a double ended sponge, and the other has a brush on one side and white sort of sponge that doesn't really hold onto much shadow. It's intended to be used on the highlighter shade as the shade just sits on the applicator for you to pat onto your eyelid.
I use the UDPP before I apply the shadows so staying power is probably about 6 hours or so before creasing or touching up is needed. I do have oily eyelids, so sometimes a touch up is necessary for me. Annoying, but it must be done.
All in all, I think this is an awesome palette. I wasn't such a big fan of purples so this is my first purple palette. It's great for everyday use if I don't feel like experimenting since the shades aren't too over the top.
