How To: Gradient Nails
I usually do the gradient style, it gets kinda boring actually, but I like it a lot more than the regular "2 color coats and top coat".
My favourites are the Majolica Majorca polishes. They go on relatively sheer which makes layering colors easy. I also like them because they dry quickly. I only own 4 colors at the moment. Since they're half the size of most other bottles, I can finish it quickly without getting tired of the colors.
I got the technique for the gradient nails from one of the Majolica Majorca website tutorials. I think it was called "like an antique doll"??
Please refer to my previous post for a picture.
I forgot to mention in the video, on the last step, I use a slightly bigger glob of polish. It's to make sure that the top is the darkest to get that nice effect.
I seem to have gotten a tax return on my pay, I dunno why haha, but it's quite nice to come back to fewer deductions.
Income tax: -89,800
Residential Tax: -8,960
Pension: 81,000
Med. insurance: 47,900
Food expenses: 15,000
= 45,140 total deductions???
Umm..how does that equal to only $45 deducted?? haha...oh well!! I'm quite happy with that! Considering I usually get deducted more than $200 a month XD
Other random school news...I had an English teacher meeting with only half of them there..wtf.. and I was explaining how I was gonna go about teaching my lessons and how frustrated I am because my coteachers are useless (while being nice about it). I tend to talk quite loudly, so all the teachers in that office thought I was pissed hahaha. Well, I did get kinda pissed. I had to repeat the same thing to my teachers like 10 times..only for it to go out the other ear...@__@
Did I ever mention that the Korean strawberries are quite tasty? They're super cheap too. If there's a fruit truck driving by, they usually sell a big tub for less than $3USD. I'm a bit wary about the super cheap ones tho. There was one time I was washing some strawberries, then I noticed after washing, the red was a bit paler! XD

Lovely Surprises and Tagged!
A package from Angie! You're so uber sweet to send me all these goodies! I was quite surprised actually. Thankq so much Angie!!!!! She included some NYX e/s and I have never tried NYX before so I'm curious to know how they work out. The browns are perfect since I'm opting for a more neutal look these days. I can't wait to try the Mario Badescu items too! Thanks again!
A package from Cuttibebe. This was from our swap and I haven't sent out your package yet, sorry!!! I'm going to the post office today...well earlier today because this is a scheduled post =p I hope you get it soon! Until then, I will hold off from opening it! Well..maybe a peek XD LOOK!! The Korean customs opened it!!!!!! Another makeup terrorism threat from the States.

What’s your favorite eye shadow color to wear?
Pinks, and Browns (I know...boring huh?) and sometimes Purples
What’s the one product you wouldn’t leave your house without?
Blotting sheets and a mirror. My T-zone is a mess by mid day =p Are those products? If not, then it would be the makeup palette and liner I'm using for the day just for touch ups.
What’s your favorite makeup look – high drama OR natural?
I like natural cuz I don't wanna look sooo dramatically different without makeup. Sometimes I layer on a bit more color.
Which feature do you play up the most?
Eyes of course, I'm not good at doing the whole blush face sculpting thing for my cheeks.
Which feature do you try to downplay/cover up?
Dark circles..ewww...but I still think they're noticable at times.
Your favorite makeup brand, if you could pick only ONE to exist?
Right now it's probably P&J. I just spent a poop load of money on it.
Which product have you re-purchased OVER and OVER again?
Imju Dejavu Fiberwig Mascara. I've been using it for at least 4 years (not the same tube of course haha). You should seriously give it a try. Although it doesn't thicken lashes as much as you might think, it really lengthens very well. Best part..it stays put and it's easier to remove than the MM mascaras.
Which product would you NEVER repurchase again and why?
Covergirl lipsticks and lipglosses...blecchh!! They're so drying!
One beauty treatment you would always PAY to have done?
My nails, but I've only done them once and realized I wasn't meant to have fake nails. I don't take care of my hands and I tend to break my real nails a lot haha.
One beauty treatment you would NEVER pay to have done?
Facials that involve blackhead removal, they hurt sooo much!!!!!
One beauty trick you can share with everyone:
I don't really have any, sorry! But I do use those non Q-tip brand q-tips things, the Asian ones, because the cotton tends to stay put instead of going into my eye and under my contacts when I'm trying to fix eyeshadow. Q-tips suck, but I'm still stuck with half a box.
Best advice you've ever been given regarding beauty and makeup?
Fuz's way of applying cream/liquid foundation. She does that patting kinda motion and I found that it helps in preventing flakiness on my cheeks. Check out her vids!

A lot of Catching Up!
I didn't buy THAT much from Hong Kong. It probably looks like a lot just because I got everything at once =p So many FOTDs to do. A lot of the things I got were because of other bloggers tempting me (Fuz, Yumeko, Lotus Palace, Cuttibebe just to name a few =p) I'm so deprived of all these Japanese goodies that I had to stock up, I needed something to cure my bordeom in Korea.
Paul & Joe galore...I spent approx. $475CAD on it haha...and nope I don't feel any sort of regret or cringing when I think about the price, it was well worth it. Just when I thought I was done my P&J haul, I ended up going back on the last day to snag the makeup mist and the cream shadow after seeing Fuz's recent posts.
The non LE lippy is color #13. It's a nice peachy beige tone. The lipglosses are #4 and #3. I kinda regret getting #3 because I didn't realize it it looked so coppery, it might end up going into my lesser used makeup pile.
Mini Majolica Majorca haul that includes the new mascara and lipgloss.
Maquillage stuff which I'm sure almost everyone has their hands on already =p
Misc. things. The pink curler has a piece of sheet metal inside, so when you heat it up you can just leave it on your head while you do other things, so much more convenient than holding an iron. Underneath the curler is a clip and stand for falsies. I had such a hard time trying to put them on so hopefully this neat lil invention will help.
Believe it or not, I still have a few things coming from HK. When I got to the airport on Saturday, the lady told us that Tim and I were only allowed 20kg per person, which is one luggage! We had no idea of course because the Korean travel agency didn't make it clear to us. We each had 2 piece of luggage that went well over the limit. So at the airport, we had to break open the luggages and sort out what we needed right away. The rest was some misc stuff, a shit load of food and clothes. Tim's papa will be mailing us the 2 luggages soon so I'll show you what else I got when it arrives XD
Also..I dunno how it happened, but in one night, I got 19 mosquito bites on my legs!!! @__@ Wearing jeans with itchy bites is a big no no..
