My Hair...over the years

Before I tell you about my ridiculous hair styles, I wanted to say thank you to Miss Fuzkittie! I sent her and a few other people something small, and little did I know, Fuz sent me a BIG love pack! I really don't expect you guys to send me anything back XD I like surprising people with things lol. So of course, Fuz totally made my day. Thank you again!!! <3<3<3 you!!! I was surprised at the size of the Rosebud Salve, I thought it'd be small like the Blistex or Lush ones hehe. Gonna try it out tonight!

I'm so mentally exhausted by my school, just last week, one of the teachers (the bitchy one) came up to me and started raging about how I was complaining about her to my head teacher....long story. The stupidest thing was, we're in the same English office, so everyone could hear her talk and she was being very unprofessional about it. I told her that I've asked her to translate everything I say to the students, regardless of if she thinks they understand. She thinks the students understand me and doesn't bother to clarify with them in Korean. I said to her that she can't assume that students understand everything. If that was the case, what's the point of going to school? I stayed calm...I learned that by staying calm I can get to her nerves even more...eventually the head teacher had to pry her away from my desk.
Omg...sorry for that rant! Lol...it just came out as I was thinking about it.

On to my hair! Haha..I think this will be so funny. I seem to change my hair style a lot.
The oldest picture I've posted up was back in 2005, I was in Disney World camwhoring. Prior to 2005, I've always kept my hair short in highschool up until the beginning of university. Most of the time it's above my shoulders. Uhhh..just before this trip, my hair had bright red streaks in it which faded really badly so I dyed it a deep purple haha...what was I thinking?? Red streaks?!?

Shortly after the trip, I cut my bangs because my friend told me to try something new. Haha..it was new indeed...I cut my bangs in a slant and kept it for a few years. This picture was from 2006 during my Shanghai exchange.

Same year, similar hair style, except the back is growing longer.

This hair style is what I called "the lion". I dunno what I was thinking. This was back in 2007. The hairstylist managed to talk me into curling my hair and he didn't even perm it the way I wanted!! I wanted flowly big curls, not little ones! I still had my slanted bangs and I dyed my hair. The hair was so difficult to style and I looked so weird....I permed it straight after 4 months. I couldn't find another picture of my lion hair.

This isn't really what my hair looks like. I actually had a noticable split on my hair instead of combing my bangs forward. I kinda miss this hair color. This was back in 2007.

This was last year in Hong Kong, looks more like my hair now, but with longer bangs and no more dyed hair.

I got hair extensions in Hong Kong and dyed my hair to a deep brown shade to cover the super faded dye from before. I miss my extensions, but it was very annoying to maintain.

I started blogging a few months after taking this picture, so most of you will proably know what my hair looked like after that XD
After showing you some of my hair styles I'll leave you with a picture of this peculiar can. I found it in the same aisle as the canned goods...yum??

Makeup Mist

I wanted to talk a bit about the 2 makeup mists that I purchased in Hong Kong.
The Shu Depsea Water was $150HKD for 5oz and the P&J Moisturizing Mist was also $150HKD but for 1.7oz.
I think the whole point of makeup mists are to add extra moisture and prep your skin for base makeup. I could be wrong, but I think makeup mists are a great starter to makeup application because I do notice that my foundation applies more smoothly.
Both the Shu and P&J mists do the job quite well. I lightly mist my forehead, cheeks and chin and pat the liquid in until its fully absorbed, then begin my usual base makeup application.
Prior to using makeup mists and getting the P&J skincare line (which I'll talk about next time), I've always stayed away from using foundation because my cheeks would get flaky. I feel that the makeup mists help reduce the flakiness even with a good moisturizer. My cheeks tend to get dry easily, especially in the dry months. I also never took good care of my skin before reading all the blogs XD

Both mists have a plesant smell to it. I got the Shu mist in bergamot because it reminds me of a cup of tea. The smells in both of the mists don't linger too long either, so I think it's great for those who are sensitive to smells.
Another good thing about makeup mists is you can spray it on top of makeup, well that's what the SAs told me. In case you want your makeup to look fresh and get a nice refreshing feeling you can simply spray this on.

So which one would I repurchase? It'll have to be the Shu mist. It's cheaper than the P&J one because its got an extra 3.3oz in it for the same price. I also think the Shu mist sprays more evenly than the P&J mist. I find that even though the P&J mist will come out as a fine mist, sometimes there's extra droplets that don't come out properly. I might not be pressing down on the nozzle hard enough...?
For those of you would don't mind splurging on the P&J, I think it's an awesome addition to the base makeup routine. Although the P&J mist is more expensive, I think it's very convenient to take with you when travelling or just putting into your purse. You don't risk any accidents because this is in a hair spray type bottle.
All in all, I recommend both mists, but that really depends on how much you're willing to spend =D

Saturday Haul

I did another video! I don't know why I look so dark o_O Plus I have a tendency to tilt my head up so I think I look quite funny XD I felt so weird talking to myself so I made Tim put ear plugs on while he played with his PSP. Annnd...according to Tim, everytime I talk, it's like I'm asking a question, he said it's like Jillian from Family Guy. I don't notice that...does anyone else notice??? lol..please say no XD

I know I already did a look with the Maquillage GR366 palette, but this time I had natural light coming through my window so you can see the colors better. The colors look amazing in the palette, but after application, I thought it looked strange..but when I open my eyes and just look normally into the mirror, the shadow actually works well on me and is soooo gorgeous!

My "Korean" hair style. It eventually got a bit flat in the front...happens all the time with my hair...darn fine limp hair!

Here's the Integrate lip cream/gloss. It goes on slightly pigmented and very shimmery. I like how it doesn't feel sticky at all, less than the MM Honey Pump Gloss. I did such a bad job at taking a swatch picture haha, but you get the idea.
I forgot to mention in the video that if you turn the dial the opposite way, it actually pulls the extra lip cream back into the tube. That's a major plus, but I still have to wipe the applicator after using it just to keep it clean.

Skinfood Black Sugar Scrub Foam. It felt sticky on my hand but washes off clean. The first ingredient in this is sucrose.

The booklet that came with the magazine says "Korea Book". I thought it would have tons of info on where to buy all the good makeup, but it's just the typical tourist spots.

Cassis donut and triple berry ade. Ade is soda with any kind of fruity syrup, lemon and orange are some of the most popular ones I've seen everywhere.

Paul & Joe Light Cream Foundation N

I just wanted to do a quick blurb about my current foundation: P&J Light Cream Foundation N #30 (clear).
This can probably be considered my first foundation. The Orbis Liquid foundation didn't match me so I can't use it right now, I probably have to wait till the summer when I get tanned.
I decided to jump right to the HE brand instead of testing out other foundations just to find the right one. Since I've read so many reviews about the P&J base makeup, I thought this was the perfect choice and I didn't regret getting it.
I got this in Hong Kong for $320HKD, about 57000won at the time. It was kinda expensive considering the RMK foundations in Korea sold for roughly the same price and P&J is supposed to be cheaper than RMK. Nevertheless, this was the right choice.

I've tried samples of powder foundation and I really didn't like how it made my cheeks looked flaky. No matter how much I exfoliated and moisturized, you could still see some flakiness on my cheeks so I chose to use liquid foundation.
The P&J foundation applies very smoothly and leaves a lovely scent that doesn't last very long. It feels very light and offers light-medium coverage, just what I was looking for. There is also SPF 15 in the foundation.
I'm not too sure if it's the finishing powder I'm using or the moisturizer, but after 5 hours or so, I notice my cheeks look a little dry and get slightly flaky. I'm still trying to figure out why that happens. I'm already using the P&J treatment oil once a week along with exfoliating my face, so this shouldn't happen.
The foundation is okay in terms of oil control. My t-zone tends to get oily during the day so it wasn't a surprise that my nose got shiny. My cheeks, however, remained mostly shine free.

Here's a picture of the foundation after 4 hours. I use a light hand when applying foundation, so it's not a huge difference or flawless skin. You can notice some shine on my nose.

This was taken after about 8 hours of wear. Again, there's some shine on my nose and the foundation seems to have faded a wee bit on my cheeks. This probably happened because I blotted my face a couple times during the day.
The first picture was taken today and the second was taken yesterday. I forgot to take one today after 8 hours, but you get the idea.

I went out to find the Pizza Hut closest to my home and it was well worth it. I looooove pan crust pizza. Tim and I got greedy because we were hungry so we ordered a large pizza and a large sampler plate...and we couldn't finish all the pizza. The pizza was a split order, so we had 2 different types in one.

I went to the Lotte Department store right after dinner to find the Maquillage counter. I wanted to get the new Styling Keep Base UV and Lasting Liquid UV but it hadn't arrived in Korea yet =( I went to the Dior counter instead to check out the addict shine gloss(??) lipsticks and I have my eyes on #352...omg it's such a pretty pink!! It's 34000won, not THAT expensive, so I'll probably get it this weekend when I have time. I really hope it comes out as a pretty girly pink.

Fringe Styler

*EDIT*
I actually uploaded the wrong video, it's supposed to have a few captions and music in the background haha. So if you haven't seen it yet, here's the editted one =p

I'm so behind on comments, but I do lurk around on blogs so I'm not that outdated with updates XD
I thought it was about time I did another video, this time I'm talking. *gasp* I hate the sound of my voice.
My bangs are growing out right now so they're funny looking and uneven. I haven't decided whether or not to keep them long. I think my forehead is kinda big, so once I grow out my bangs, I feel like I look baldish on one side. I dunno how to style my hair properly. You know those Japanese magazines that have girls with nice hair in the front? I can't seem to do that without my forehead looking weird or my hair looking like...a blob of hair on the right side of my head.
YT is soo slow!! It's eating away at my sleeping time!!

Fairy Flora

I decided to replicate a look from The Face Shop Spring 2009 newsletter. I thought it was a very fresh spring/summer look with minimal makeup. I don't know the names of the makeup pieces that were used on the model, but I'm pretty sure they're new for spring.

I did this FOTD when I got home so the lighting isn't that good. I used the RMK Creamy Makeup base and it pilled! This never happened before and it was quite gross.

I started off with the MM cream shadow as a base. Then I used the colors (except the brown) from the 3D Lighting Eyes 01 to do a gradient look. I made sure I layered on lots of the deepest pink onto my lid but it doesn't show up very well in pictures.
I lined the bottom lash line with the Shu e/s and lightly lined my top lashline with the MM liner.
The close up of my eye is kinda messed up haha. I tried to put on falsies and I failed at putting on the second one, but at least you can see the difference. I didn't like how the falsies felt on my eyes, it was like something constantly poking me. I think I'm gonna try end falsies next time.

The model barely had any color on her cheeks, so I just used the Lavshuca blush and the Etude House highlighting beads. I used the Lavshuca blush under the apples of my cheeks.
I like how the falsies are nicely curled. I think I need to get a heated eyelash curler now because my lashes don't stay curled very well.

Such a difference without falsies, also because I didn't line my eyes very heavily. The Skinfood BB cream give light coverage, so most of my freckles are very apparent in close up pics.

I went to the Lotte Young Plaza and department store and managed to sneak a picture of Banila Co's newest e/s: Gossip Girl. This totally reminded me of Mona XD

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. At the Lotte Department Store, the RMK counter came out with a foundation set for only 100,000won (about $88CAD) and I don't know if I should get it. The set comes with a liquid foundation, makeup base (the one in the jar), silver pouch and some samples. I'm not sure if the makeup base is the regular one or the color control.
I'm so tempted to get it, but then I haven't even used 1/4 of the P&J foundation yet. I only have 2 foundations, one of which I don't use anymore because it's a bit too dark for me. What to do...
Well...it's either that or get the Hanskin conditioning treatment thing for only 13,000won.

Coffret D'or: Pressed Powder

I just realized what was missing from my blog: reviews! Seems like I haven't done one in a long time too!
Okay..before I start I just have a short ramble. I posted up my vid on YT and didn't turn off the comment section. I meant to do it, but I got lazy. Anyway, there were 2 haters...and wow..I'm quite surprised that they would take their time to watch my vid AND leave a comment! Some people just have too much time on their hands. They were actually hating on my nose.
It's so funny how people hide behind a computer now. Remember back in the days, if you were gonna say shit about someone, you'd want to say it in their face, but you don't? You wouldn't say it in their face unless you want your teeth knocked out...so yah. I'm not bothered by it, it's not like I have a problem with my nose anyway...like I said..I live with what I got.

My mini review is on the Coffret D'or Pressed Powder. I got it for $305HKD as a set at Facesss in Hong Kong.
The packaging has the signature Coffret D'or rhinestone pattern, except the rhinestone pattern isn't colored. I wish it did because the 3D lighting palettes has pink on it
The set comes with a puff which I think sucks. It doesn't spread the powder very evenly. The puff sits on top of a plastic piece which rests on the sides of the case without touching the powder. It would have been better if Coffret D'or created a separate compartment. I don't use the puff anymore, now I use a flat brush I got from Muji for $65HKD. It's a super soft brush made of natural hairs. The brush actually fits in the case, but I prefer to keep it separate.

The powder is translucent and leaves my skin matte and smooth. I think it does a good job at covering my pores, but oil control wise, it's moderate. I still have to do the usual blotting after a few hours. I would definitely buy this again, but I think there are too many products out there for me to try before I finally finish this one.

Now for some juicy stuff! I got the swap from Cuttibebe about 3 weeks ago. She actually sent it out on Feb 20 and I didn't send mine till I got back from my vacation. Anyway, she finally got my package and now I can finally crack everything open! I kept it under the bed the whole time until she got hers.

We did a blind swap which I thought was quite fun. Some of the biggy pieces that she got me was the P&J Milky Lip Treatment and Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nudes palette! My first BB item!! I loooooove the colors. Although there are 2 matte shadows in the palette, I can still add some shimmer from some of the other e/s in the palette. Ah...such love..great for school! The palette is actually more brown than purple, I don't know why it appears purple o_O

I love the Shu shadow. I think it'll go perfectly with the BB palette.
I used the lip treatment last night and my lips are so soft now! It's not sticky at all and leaves a glossy finish. I don't think there's a smell to it, well I don't notice one.

Yay! More Lush! I just hope I don't get too addicted that I start buying Lush here, it's very $$.
Last night I went out with 2 neighbours in my building. It's funny how I didn't go out with them till now because I didn't get a chance to talk to them. They're also teachers who are hired by the same company I am.
We had this Korean thing and I just had to ask for extra cheese haha, in the end it was too spicy for me so I only had 1 dish.

I was also tagged for the 10 things about me award, I can't remember what it's called. I already did it, so here's the post =)

School routine isn't what I do at school, rather it's how I do my makeup in the morning. I wake up at 6:30am and leave the box by 7:35am so I have to do my makeup pretty quickly. It takes me about 10 minutes to do it and it's really quick and plain. Maybe tomorrow I should try some different colors.
Anyway, I did a video of my routine...my nose is displayed quite well in the vid XD I hate it...butttt...I live with what I gots.

I used the P&J lippy in 13. I didn't show it in the vid. It's a nice peachy beige which gives just a hint of color on my lips. I don't know why my right eye appears monolid...it's usually not like that o_O maybe I'm just tired..it's early...
I meant to post the video yesterday, but I had to cook dinner =p

*edit*
I duno why the video doesn't work right now, but I'll check it out once I get home.

Bau House

This is totally non makeup related, but I just had to show everyone! I found out there's a dog cafe in Seoul called Bau House. You can go in and have a drink, chat with your friend while playing with the dogs. The store owns 30 dogs and up to 15 dogs are running around at the same time. There's supposed to be a cat somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
Customers are allowed to bring their own dogs and let them run free and socialize. The dogs in the store are very tame even though they may jump on top of the tables. You can buy treats for the dogs to lure them to your table for a picture too. I was soo excited, especially when I got to play with a corgi and someone else's weiner puppy! The pictures of me came out funny so I didn't post myself up =p I look different in so many pictures, sometimes I'm chubby, sometimes I'm not, but that day, my hair styling products made my hair look so gross.

I took a few videos of the cafe but only uploaded one. OMG...my voice is in it and so is Tim hahahaha. I'm like being miss know-it-all... the ex pet store employee came out of me XD I rambled on a lot in the vid too. I didn't wait an hour like I said, it was only 20 minutes. Enjoy!!

Super Natural

I totally forgot to tag bloggers in the award post haha and I'm feelig a bit too lazy to go back to do it because I'm going out soon =p
I spent my Saturday walking in the "foreign district" at Itaewon. The first 2 times I went there, I was so turned off by the fact that it's a tourist hotspot that sells fake dvds, clothes etc.
I went to brunch with Tim and another couple at Itaewon because they say that the area specializes in more un-localized Western food. The brunch was quite expensive. My eggs benedict was 21000won, so about $18CAD? It wasn't really the best. After brunch, we went to the areas behind the main tourist road to find the foreign food black market. Its quite funny how the windows and doors are kept plain and sort of covered. Once you walk in, it's like a cheap run down store that has a few racks and refrigerators of "imported" food. I ended up getting a jar of Nutella XD

I decided to go for a more natural look when seeing my friends so I used the Lunasol 10th Anniversary palette.
This palette gets me super natural eyes with blushed cheeks that stand out more.
The shades are actually not that pigmented. I think the top right and bottom left shade is so similar that you barely notice the difference. The high lighter shade is a pale gold shade with golden shimmers and the liner is a coffee shade with golden shimmer that's not super pigmented either.
I actually think the whole palette has a golden undertone to it. The blush also has some very fine golden shimmers. I don't think I've said gold so many times before!

I tried to layer the colors on a lot because the shades weren't very pigmented. I started off the the Coffret D'or FS eyes in the gold shade as a base then used the highlighter all over the brow bone.
Next I applied the top right shade all over the lid and blended the bottom left shade on the outer V. Finally, I applied the liner shade and the Noble Shade Liner. The liquid liner is a chocolate brown shade.
The shadows are very silky and they blend really easily, but I don't think the staying power is as good as the EX04 palette from the 2008 Winter set.

The mascara that comes with this palette is the High Stylized Mascara EL. It's black and gives my lashes a really feathery look. It doesn't thicken my lashes much, except give it a bit of length so I finished off with a coat of Fiberwig mascara.
The blush is a really nice peachy pink shade with golden shimmers. The color leans more to the peach shade and it doesn't look very orangey when applied.
I applied the deepest shade on the cheek bones and up to my hairline. You will notice from some previous posts that I apply blush in the same area. I finished off with the 2 lightest shades on the top of cheeks under my eyes.
The lipgloss is also a peachy pink shade. I think the texture is similar to the P&J lipgloss, except it's slightly sticker and not as pigmented.

The pictures are very washed out because I was sitting directly in front of the window, I don't look that pale =p I don't really like sitting in front of the window but the artificial light in my box isn't great for taking pictures. Whenever I smile or look up, my under eyes puff up a bit and I didn't like it in this picture so I photoshopped it out hahaha. I hope you didn't notice!
I really like how this Lunasol palette gives me such a natural look. It's definitely what I'm looking for right now, especially because I'm not wearing glasses to school anymore.

I just did a little bit of shopping. I got the Daily Fresh egg peel again and I made Tim use one as well XD I saw the DHC mouth mask in HK, but I didn't get it until now. I'm not really sure what it's supposed to do, maybe it's just moisturizing and anti wrinkles?? Oh..I'm also not the healthiest person right now so I got some vitamins from Smoothie King for me and Tim. I couldn't read the label because it's in Korean and I don't think there's calcium in it so I might have to go find some calcium supplements. They're very cute chewable tablets, mine taste like strawberry jello.

Swatches and Paul & Joe

This is just a short post of some random things I have because it's getting late in the night already. It's almost 9pm and I haven't done the daily chores, plus I usually sleep at 1030pm hahaha.
I'm doing the most random thing right now with the bf. We're trying to compare who's taste in oldies is better....Queen or Nirvana!?!?!?! He thinks Nirvana is better than Queen...psshh...

I've done a few swatches of the Maquillage items I have. I'm not really gonna do an in depth review of it, but I do want to mention that I really like these new Maquillage eyeshadows and blush a lot because they're so pigmented and long lasting! Plus, they also come with easy to use tutorials.
Maquillage eyeshadow, I can't remember what it's called. Eyes creator??

The Maquillage Face Creator 11 compared to the Coffret D'or Color Blend Blush in OR-24.
The Coffret D'or blush is probably my current favourite because the color is so buildable. You can also mix the colors or use them on its own. It gives me perfectly blushed cheeks without looking over done with makeup.
I love how there's 2 highlighter strips in this palette which you can mix. The highlighter shade is very subtle and it gives a nice glow on my cheek bones. The colors are a mix of peachy and pink shades which have great staying power.
I think the brush that comes with this palette is useless because the bristles are too stiff. It's good to use with the highlighter though.

I had to mention one of my P&J items that totally helped save my skin! For those of you with dry skin or dry cheeks, this is the perfect solution for you! The P&J Treatment oil moisturizes your skin like no other.
I always thought of my skin as oily so I would always buy skincare products for oily skin. Well that was a big mistake for all these years because I had oily combo skin. My t-zone was oily but my cheeks were always dry. I wondered why my cheeks would be flaky everytime I applied makeup. That was one of the reasons I never used foundation, the other reason is because I thought I wouldn't look natural. I exfoliated everyweek but it didn't seem to work.
I thought I was doomed to have flaky cheeks forever until I read Cuttibebe's post on the P&J treatment oil. I was eager to get it in hopes that it'll break the dry cycle on my cheeks and I'm glad I did! After one use, I already noticed a difference, my cheeks weren't as flaky anymore the next day. So now I'm able to use foundation without worrying that I'll have flaky skin on my cheeks.

I purchased the treatment oil in Hong Kong for $360HKD. It contains 40mL and it comes in a heavy glass bottle. The cap has the signature P&J flower designs on it which is a nice touch. It makes my vanity look more high end XD I think $360HKD was quite a hefty amount for such a small bottle, but I didn't realize that alittle goes a long way. I use 4-5 drops for the entire face. Although my face has a slight oily residue for the rest of the night, I like how it's so moisturizing. I don't get any breakouts from the oil which is a great thing.

Awarded!

I was tagged and awarded by the lovely Paper Doll Revenge (aka Diana)! I'm so flattered =D

I just copied and pasted this from her blog =p

“This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog’s content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant."

“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows she/he is real. Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!”

1. I sleep with a night light...still, I know haha. Long story...my mom says to me that sleeping in a room that's no completely dark could cause breast cancer?? She read it from some article or something of the like.
2. I pick my nails and anything around my nails a lot...like the hang nails.
3. I like to twirl my hair, especially near the ends.
4. I can flex my nostrils hahaha...TMI!??!?! XD
5. I always bit my lips, no matter if they're dry or not. The only way to stop me from doing this is to use some sort of lip product.
6. I think I sweat more than normal...ewww...
7. I can grab things with my toes lol
8. I check out other girls...in the non sexual way XD
9. I always have to give my cats and rabbit a kiss on their head lol
10. I love staring at makeup and my mini food collection..which I'm sure you'd probably known by now.

Hope I didn't scare anyone off!!!! hahaha.
I'm working on another post right now which should be up tomorrow, most likely during your evenings. I wanted to include pictures in this one but I'm slow at resizing stuff.

Also, I wanted to say thanks for everyone's input on my previous post. It just gets me angry sometimes when I think about it.

Beauty Is Everything..?

*This is a non makeup related post. I must tell you first that this is purely my opinion and I don't mean to offend anyone.

How do I start this.... Well, from September to February, I wore glasses to school and alternated between business casual and just casual clothes (my school allows running shoes). I didn't like to wear contacts to school because my eyes would feel irritated early in the morning. I also just stuck to basic powder and blush.
From the start of March until now, I dress the same, except I wear my contacts and use a bit of makeup because I don't wear my glasses. I started to wear my contacts because I just felt like prettying myself instead of looking like a nerd all day.

Between both of these times, I've noticed different responses from my school.
Back in those months that I wore glasses, I always say hi to the teachers I pass in the hallways, yet half of them just give me a dirty look or the cold shoulder.
Since the start of March, when I say hi to the same teachers, I get a better response from them. For example, when I walk down the hallways, the teachers would actual acknowledge that I was saying hi to them and they would smile back. My students are even a bit nicer to me. So what gives??? Do looks really matter???
I'm not saying this about Korea specifically, but I'm just saying, I seem to notice that looks matter a lot. Whenever I go to the washrooms, I see a lot of women touching up their makeup and redoing their hair.

So before I continue babbling on about things that don't seem to make sense (I can't seem to put my words together right now), just read these Time Magazine articles here and here. You'll understand what I'm trying to say.

Spring Look

I mentioned once that the strawberries are so cheap in Korea. I'm soooo glad it's strawberry season cuz I luuuurve strawberries. I got this big bowl (2 boxes) for less than $5CAD!

I decided to break into my Lunasol samples and the Maquillage GR366 palette. I've used the blush (11) once already and I kept forgetting I had it. The Lunasol base is the Creamy Makeup Base. Please refer back to this post for swatches.
As soon as I got home, I washed my face and did a quick tutorial for a mid-week blog perk haha. I think Tim got frustrated because I was busy with my makeup and snapping pictures of myself while he made dinner haha.

The Lunasol sample is called Water Cream Foundation in shade OC02. I think it's a tiny bit too light for me so I have to be careful on how much I apply. It applies very smoothly, much like the P&J Light Cream Foundation N. The 2 shades are actually very similar, but the P&J foundation matches me more.
The Lunasol foundation leaves a matte finish which I'm not too fond of, but I'm sure it would get more dewy looking once it settles and mixes with my face oils (haha sounds gross).

I didn't look carefully when I was picking out this Maquillage blush. I should have picked something with a lighter pink. The rosey pink blush is quite pigmented and it was easy to over apply, other than that, I really like the other shades in this combo. The good thing is the fact that there's a contour shade, highlighter and the blush in one compact. It makes one less item to stick into my small cluttered box. The downside is each color is very small so it makes sticking the brushes in quite annoying. I forgot to take swatches of these palettes, but I'll do so next time when I remember.

This looks so complicated haha. If you go to the Maquillage website, you can find the tutorial. I pretty much followed the chart there for the blush application. For the contour shade (the darker brown) I applied it along the jawbone and also from the hairline underneath the blush. I don't know if that made much of a difference because there wasn't much natural lighting in my box to see. I didn't have another brush to contour with so I used the brush that came with the palette.

For my eyes, I used the tutorial from the Maquillage website. The colors are quite pigmented, especially the gray and white highlighter shade on the top right hand corner. I felt that blending the gray over the mint green shade was a bit difficult. Since it was so pigmented, it was easy to over apply or apply it unevenly. It'll take some practice. This also goes for the other palette I have GY865 which I absolutely adore. Even though it's a brown palette, the way the colors come out, it gives a glam kinda natural look, does that make sense? It's like a brown/natural look you would see in a Vivi magazine. I'll talk more when I do an FOTD with it.
I almost forgot to mention, the liner shade is a gorgeous. It's a really dark blue, almost to the point of being black, with lots of blue shimmers in it. I do have a rant about the liner though. Either the liner is too hard, or the brush is too soft, but I have to swipe the brush on a few times before I could get enough color on.
Really sucks that the colors are so washed out.
I didn't use anything on my lips, but I don't know why it appears like I did o_O

I'm finally thinking of doing something to my brows because I'll probably grow my bangs out this summer (Korea gets pretty humid). In the meantime, I've already started to think of what brow makeup to use.
Since I don't have access to a Sephora, I'm thinking of trying the Laneige Brow Shaping Kit. It's similar to the brow kit that Sephora offers. Stay tuned!....for my bangs to grow out and me doing my brows for the first time...hahahaha.... I've only got them professionally done twice and the other times I pluck the stray hairs.
