Spring Look

I mentioned once that the strawberries are so cheap in Korea. I'm soooo glad it's strawberry season cuz I luuuurve strawberries. I got this big bowl (2 boxes) for less than $5CAD!

I decided to break into my Lunasol samples and the Maquillage GR366 palette. I've used the blush (11) once already and I kept forgetting I had it. The Lunasol base is the Creamy Makeup Base. Please refer back to this post for swatches.
As soon as I got home, I washed my face and did a quick tutorial for a mid-week blog perk haha. I think Tim got frustrated because I was busy with my makeup and snapping pictures of myself while he made dinner haha.

The Lunasol sample is called Water Cream Foundation in shade OC02. I think it's a tiny bit too light for me so I have to be careful on how much I apply. It applies very smoothly, much like the P&J Light Cream Foundation N. The 2 shades are actually very similar, but the P&J foundation matches me more.
The Lunasol foundation leaves a matte finish which I'm not too fond of, but I'm sure it would get more dewy looking once it settles and mixes with my face oils (haha sounds gross).

I didn't look carefully when I was picking out this Maquillage blush. I should have picked something with a lighter pink. The rosey pink blush is quite pigmented and it was easy to over apply, other than that, I really like the other shades in this combo. The good thing is the fact that there's a contour shade, highlighter and the blush in one compact. It makes one less item to stick into my small cluttered box. The downside is each color is very small so it makes sticking the brushes in quite annoying. I forgot to take swatches of these palettes, but I'll do so next time when I remember.

This looks so complicated haha. If you go to the Maquillage website, you can find the tutorial. I pretty much followed the chart there for the blush application. For the contour shade (the darker brown) I applied it along the jawbone and also from the hairline underneath the blush. I don't know if that made much of a difference because there wasn't much natural lighting in my box to see. I didn't have another brush to contour with so I used the brush that came with the palette.

For my eyes, I used the tutorial from the Maquillage website. The colors are quite pigmented, especially the gray and white highlighter shade on the top right hand corner. I felt that blending the gray over the mint green shade was a bit difficult. Since it was so pigmented, it was easy to over apply or apply it unevenly. It'll take some practice. This also goes for the other palette I have GY865 which I absolutely adore. Even though it's a brown palette, the way the colors come out, it gives a glam kinda natural look, does that make sense? It's like a brown/natural look you would see in a Vivi magazine. I'll talk more when I do an FOTD with it.
I almost forgot to mention, the liner shade is a gorgeous. It's a really dark blue, almost to the point of being black, with lots of blue shimmers in it. I do have a rant about the liner though. Either the liner is too hard, or the brush is too soft, but I have to swipe the brush on a few times before I could get enough color on.
Really sucks that the colors are so washed out.
I didn't use anything on my lips, but I don't know why it appears like I did o_O

I'm finally thinking of doing something to my brows because I'll probably grow my bangs out this summer (Korea gets pretty humid). In the meantime, I've already started to think of what brow makeup to use.
Since I don't have access to a Sephora, I'm thinking of trying the Laneige Brow Shaping Kit. It's similar to the brow kit that Sephora offers. Stay tuned!....for my bangs to grow out and me doing my brows for the first time...hahahaha.... I've only got them professionally done twice and the other times I pluck the stray hairs.

Yummy strawberries!!!

I got the face creator in 44 and it's overall a pink palette, you might like that more if you wanted to get another one. I kind of want 11 now though haha. I actually love the contouring shade. I'm not sure if it's the same in each palette but I think it works pretty well on my skin tone. I agree that it's hard to stick a brush in the palette to get each color though.

The Lunasol foundation sounds good! I have a sample of one, but I have no idea what shade it is >.<

The Maquillage palette looks sooo pretty on your eyes! I can really see the liner in the 1st pic! Mine was hard to put on with the brush it came with to. I really had to dig it in =P

I really like cool tones on you! I find Japanese makeup colours are hard to capture properly...not sure how Fuz does it :P Is it still washed out when you use natural lighting?

the e/s looks nice, but yea the colors are washed out. it's hard to capture colors on cameras.

I'm not a huge fan of strawberries by itself (unless dipped in whipped cream) but I do love using them to make smoothies!

Hey Beauty Chest!
I can't remember if I answered you or not =p
I'm not too sure because I'm not from the states. It'll probably be easier if you went on adambeauty.com or gooddealer.com
adambeauty is closer to retail in HKD, but he does charge a bit more when converted to USD. he doesn't sell lunasol, but gooddealer does. happy shopping!
